Hey there! My name is NikkiBunny816, just an active transcripter here on Bandori Wikia. ^^
You may have seen my work here before, and as you maaay have noticed, I'm currently reformatting all card stories' transcripts to recheck them. ̶S̶o̶r̶r̶y̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶w̶i̶k̶i̶ ̶a̶c̶t̶i̶v̶i̶t̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶m̶ ̶a̶n̶n̶o̶y̶i̶n̶g̶.̶.̶.̶ ̶ ̶F̶u̶e̶e̶~̶!̶
I am just trying to figure out a few things just to make sure everything is in an uniform format. When I looked back on all the old card stories made, they weren't as consistent as they should be when it comes to the coding of settings, coding of usernames, and punctuation marks. It was understandable that that was due to different transcripters typing out the card stories with their own guidelines or new templates were added but weren't revised for card stories made before it was implemented. I found it pretty unorganized reading all the transcripts written in different ways. Because of this, I was planning a general guidelines blog or possibly an addition on the wikia's policies about transcriptions in Bandori Wikia- if it ever will be talked about and approved by the admins. If it won't, this will just serve as a suggestion for future purposes; after all, I'm not really a part of the moderation team. One of these "guidelines" I wanted to finalize is the usage of musical notes in card stories and card names ("Hi♪" or "Hi ♪"). I know it sounds tedious that even these minor details are being brought to attention by me. Knowing Bushiroad and Craft Egg as well, they'd have their reasons why they name the cards and type transcripts that way. Then, as we all know though... they aren't really the best in English...
Personally, I find Hi ♪ more nicer to look at than Hi♪ because for me, it shows more emotion and isn't "squished" if that makes sense.
For example, "Okay! I'll be waiting~ ♪" from Ako's Tomoe SOS! Ako's Grand Nursing Operation Card and "Raring to go ♪" from Sayo's Wish Upon a Tanzaku Card so that's what I've been editing in transcripts.
Recently, I pondered about it again and realized that it would have been more logical to have it as "Hi♪" than what I originally stuck to using, especially in sentences such as
"I like it♪ I think I might get this next time." from Rimi's The Impromptu Wedding Dress Card.
It does look a lot more awkward if it was "I like it ♪ I think I might get this next time."
I'm basically torn apart from two choices. I could just do "Hi ♪" if it is placed at the end of the line to portray happiness and then do "Hi♪" if it is placed between two sentences to serve as an punctuation mark and here we are, with my discussion survey~. I might do this survey over at the Bandori Amino, another community I originally came from- from the app Amino, as well to get more answers.
As always, I'll be doing my "hobby" here until my school vacation ends. I'm excited to find new things, and explore more on Bandori Wikia with everyone. Trying to fit in a fandom wikia as an editor is pretty exhausting when it comes to templates and codes, but regardless, I love these new experiences~! I'm very happy to be here. ^^
Thank you for reading~!
PS. Oh, I thought I couldn't fit everything I typed here. Turns out, I had to choose a category. Ahhh- I hope the category I chose is the right place for this topic. ;-;
