Heart-Pounding Future (Part 1)

Poppin'Party has to create a set list for their concert,
but can't decided on what to play...

Kasumi: ... How was that?
Tae: Incredible, Kasumi! The fact that you can play that means you've gotten so much better at the guitar!
Kasumi: I know, right~?! I was playing at home yesterday, and then, out of nowhere, I got the hang of it!
Rimi: That happens to me too. I'll be having a hard time playing something, but then I wake up the next morning, and my fingers do exactly what they need to.
Saaya: I think that just means our daily rehearsals are paying off. Isn't it so motivating to think how the practice we're doing right now will someday amount to something?
Arisa: I mean, yeah, we play here almost every day. Obviously, we'd get better.
Kasumi: Ah, Marina-san's calling! I wonder why!
Kasumi: Yes, hello? Kasumi here!
... Yep... Ohhh~, really?
Tae: She must be calling from CiRCLE, right? What could they be talking about?
Arisa: Must be urgent since she's calling.
Kasumi: What?! Really?!
Yeah! Of course we'll do it!
Arisa: G-guys... She just promised that we'll do something without asking. Is that okay?
Kasumi: Okay, bye, Marina-san!
Thanks for calling!
Arisa: H-hey, Kasumi? Sounded like you took it upon yourself to agree to something for us... What were you talking about?
Kasumi: Well~... Heh heh~.
It turns out...
Kasumi: Poppin'Party's gonna be part of a concert at CiRCLE~!!
All: What?!
Tae: They want us for their event?!
Us?!
Kasumi: Mhm! A few bands are gonna be brought together to hold a concert at CiRCLE! She wanted to ask if we would perform!
Saaya: Okay, so that's why she called.
Rimi: I was hoping we would have the chance to show how much we've improved soon! This event is perfect!
Arisa: That's fine and all, Kasumi, but you can't go deciding this stuff on your own! At least talk to us about it first!
Kasumi: Oh, right! I'm sorry! I was just so happy, I couldn't help myself! Are you saying you didn't want to do it?!
Arisa: N-no, I'm all in favor of being part of the event. What I'm saying is that this is something we're all supposed to decide together!
Kasumi: Yes, you're right! Sorry! Seems like everyone is on board though, so that's good!
Kasumi: Ah, also! She said that since a number of bands will be taking part, she wants each of the groups to come up with a set list of five songs!
Tae: Coming up with a set list is always fun. The order of the songs we play is so important. We have to make sure to put a lot of effort into this.
Kasumi: But it's only five songs, right? I love all of our songs. I don't think I would be able to choose.
Saaya: Then it's clear what we have to do, isn't it? We have to decide on a concept for the set list first, no?
Kasumi: What do you mean by that...?
Rimi: Like a list of songs you'd play if you felt lonely, or ones that you'd play to fill yourself with courage. Something like that, I think.
Kasumi: Oh! What if we choose the sparkling, heart-pounding songs then?! Wouldn't that be an amazing concept?!
Arisa: Hmmm~. Okay, if we went with that idea, what would that mean for choosing songs?
Kasumi: Uhhh, well~... Gasp, it wouldn't work! They're all so sparkly and heart-pounding, I wouldn't be able to choose!
Saaya: Fufufu, you filled all of the songs with that same emotion. It probably makes sense that you wouldn't be able to choose like that.
Saaya: Why don't we try to think of a concept that's a little more concrete?
Tae: What about... songs you wanna listen to while you cuddle with bunnies?
Arisa: When does anyone have the chance to do that?! And you're telling me that's your put-a-lot-of-effort answer?! There has to be something better.
Tae: Okay, then how's this? Songs to help you enjoy a new beginning.
Arisa: Hmmm... Huh...
Arisa: I think we got to a good answer too quickly. It's making me feel unsure...
Saaya: I'm impressed you were able to go from your cuddle concept to that one...
Kasumi: It's really good though! We're becoming second-year students! It's perfect!
Rimi: I like it too! Every day would be more enjoyable if we could come up with a set list like that!
Kasumi: Okay! Let's get to thinking, then!
All: Yeah!!

Will collecting their thoughts on paper help?

Tae: Okay, let's start making our set list!
Kasumi: So the concept is "songs to help you enjoy a new beginning." What should be our first song?
Arisa: This the song we're leading with, so we have to choose carefully...
Rimi: And I'm sure there will be a lot of people who don't know who we are. It needs to be a song that introduces us to them as well.
Saaya: Something to introduce us, huh?
This is getting harder and harder.
Arisa: We're probably not gonna get anything done by just throwing out random thoughts. Should we take notes so we can organize our ideas?
Saaya: Ah, great idea. Let's do that!
Kasumi: Leave it to Arisa to come up with such a good idea~. That's what makes her so good at studying, I bet.
Arisa: Oh, shut up! How many times do I have to tell you not to judge me over little things like this?!
Kasumi: Alright, we'll use my notebook!
Kasumi: Okay, just gotta do one of these, and...
'Kay, let's get to thinking!
Kasumi: First song. It has to be something that can introduce us to the crowd!
Tae: I want it to be a song where we can show that we are living in the same moment as the people watching us.
Arisa: O-Tae... You sure know how to come up with good ideas when you feel like it...
Rimi: Hmmm...
"In the same moment." Good.
Ah, that means we should play...
All: Double Rainbow!
Kasumi: Great idea! I think that would be a really cool way to start! Okay, I'll write it down. "Song #1: Double Rainbow."
Arisa: Oh, alright... So you don't know the character for the last word?
Kasumi: Y-you noticed? ... Wait, how does it go again? Which radical?
Arisa: The one that looks like the character for insect on the left, and the katakana for "eh" on the right.
Kasumi: ... Yeah! There we go!
Saaya: C'mon, Kasumi. This is the name of one of our songs. You should memorize how to write it...
Kasumi: I will~!
Uhhh, what about the second song?
Rimi: Okay, I think we should go with Star Beat! It's the first song we made. There's no way we could leave that one out.
Kasumi: Yeah! And we were feeling sparkling and heart-pounding when we made it! I definitely wanna do that one! What do you guys think?
Arisa, Saaya & Tae: Agreed.
Rimi: Yay. Okay, "Song #2: Star Beat!"
Arisa: Planning seems to be going well.
Kasumi: Right?! It's like we're getting into the swing of things! Let's take that momentum and move to the third song!
Saaya: Uhm, is it okay if I decide on the next one?
Kasumi: Of course!
Saaya: I would like to put Girl's Code here. The song places that sparkling and heart-pounding feeling into the smallest details that surround us every day.
Saaya: And I think we need that if we want to enjoy a new beginning.
Kasumi: I couldn't agree more! Impressive as always, Saaya! You always know the right thing to say! 'Kay, you write down the third song!
Saaya: Okay! I'll do it in this color then.
Saaya: Whoa! Where did all these rabbits come from?!
Arisa: O-O-Tae... I knew you were too quiet. So you were doodling on the notebook, huh?
Tae: Those aren't doodles. Think of them as decoration. The cuteness will make it easier to get everyone excited.
Saaya: Th-thanks, O-Tae...
Here we go. "Song #3: Girl's Code."
Tae: Hm? Saaya, don't you want to add something decorative too?
Saaya: M-me?! I thought it was obvious when we went to that photo booth. I'm not very good at this type of thing... Is this okay?
Arisa: So you liked the mustache too, huh...?
Kasumi: Ooo, me too! Let me do one!
Arisa: I-is that supposed to be me?! That looks nothing like me! F-forget about that! Let's keep planning!
Kasumi: O-oh, yeah... I think the set list is coming out well, but... we only have two songs left. What should we do?
Tae: What about this?
Arisa: ... What? What is this? Rabbits gathering at a pond?
Tae: No, look again.
It's a ring!
Kasumi: A ring? Oh, I get it! Is it CiRCLING?!
Tae: Ding ding ding!
Rimi: I think that's a great song at that point in the set list! It'll create the feeling that everyone has become one!
Kasumi: Mmm~! Amazing! This set list is awesome! Only one song left!
Tae: Always wanna end with something fun. Something that will get everyone fired up.
Kasumi: I think... there's only one song for that, right?
All: Yep...
Yeah...
All: Happy Happy Party!
Kasumi: Most definitely! I knew we would all be on the same page~♪ ... Oh! Arisa, here! Write the last song!
Arisa: Is that alright? Okay... "Happy Happy Party!" Done. Like this?
Tae: Oh, make sure to decorate it later.
Arisa: Huh?! Ugh, what a pain...
Kasumi: Ahahaha! And the set list is complete! I feel like it's the best it could possibly be!
Rimi: Fufufu, me too.
Saaya: Alright, now we just have to prepare by practicing.
Arisa: Yeah.
Kasumi: Okay, guys, now for our cheer!!
All: Popipa! Pipopa! Popipapa pipopa~!!

Ran: A concert?
Himari: Marina-san called to ask us to be part of an event that CiRCLE is hosting!
Himari: Poppin'Party and Roselia will be taking part as well. Let's join them!
Tsugumi: A CiRCLE event, huh? Sounds fun. They went to the trouble of contacting us. I say we should do it.
Tomoe: Yup, no problem here. I never say no to anything like a festival.
Moca: No objections here~.
Let's give them an intense show~.
Ran: Yeah. We haven't done anything like this in a while. I don't see why we shouldn't.
Himari: Okay, then it's settled! I'll let Marina-san know!
Himari: Ah, by the way, there are gonna be some new bands that perform as well.
Moca: New bands?
Tomoe: Yep. Girl bands have been poppin' up recently.
Tsugumi: Mhm, to the point where CiRCLE would take notice of them too.
Ran: I mean, it doesn't matter who's there with us. We'll still be doing the same as always.
Himari: ... Ah, Marina-san just answered!
Himari: Uhhh, let's see...
Himari: "Some of the other bands look up to Afterglow. Give them the coolest show you can."
Ran & Moca: They look up...
Tsugumi & Tomoe: To us?!
Himari: D-did you hear that? Some of the other kids look up to us!
Tomoe: What do you mean, 'did you hear'...?
Get it together. You're the one that said it.
Himari: I know, but it was such a shock!
Do you understand?! They wanna be like us!
Ran: ...
Tsugumi: Th-that's kind of embarrassing in a way...
Moca: So we've finally made it big. We might just be playing at the Budokan next year.
Tsugumi: I'm sure that's much further off, Moca-chan...
Tomoe: Haha, it's pretty motivating to have other kids want to be like us though, huh?!
Himari: Mhm! We'll have to put on the best performance we can during that concert! Alright~, time to show them why Afterglow is so cool!
Ran: It's definitely not because we say things like that...
Tsugumi: Ahaha...
Moca: Okay~, so how exactly do we show them that~?
Himari: Huh? Well... You know!
Himari: This will probably be the first time many of the other girls are performing! So we show them what CiRCLE and concerts are all about!
Tomoe: Probably wouldn't hurt to go talk to 'em before the show, help them calm their nerves.
Tsugumi: I guess we were pretty nervous ourselves when we were still getting used to the whole concert thing...
Tsugumi: We have much more experience as a band, so it'd be nice to help them out wherever we can.
Himari: Mhm!
Tomoe: Yup!
Moca: Hmmm~, I'm pretty sure people who give away buns are the coolest of them all~.
Moca: Take my word for it. Our first move should be for you guys to give me buns~.
Tomoe: Oh, yeah~, your word means so much when it comes to bread...
Himari: Hmph! As if we'd fall for that!
Ran: ... Guys, a second?
Tomoe: Yeah, what's up?
Ran: Giving them advice or whatever is fine and all, but if we're trying to show them what's "cool" isn't it obvious what we have to do?
Tomoe & Himari: Huh?
Ran: The reason they look up to us must be that they like our shows and our music, right?
Ran: In which case, we should show them what we need to show them through our music.
Tomoe & Himari: ...?!
Himari: Y-yeah, I think Ran is right...!
Tomoe: N-no doubt about that. We gotta show them what it means for Afterglow to perform!
Tsugumi: Okay, then we'll need to start thinking of our set list.
Himari: Mhm! One that's super awesome and perfect for our band!

Himari: Okay, set list is all done!
Tomoe: We'll probably only fit in five songs with the time we've been given. We made it so that all the songs would show who we are. What do you guys think?
Tsugumi: Scarlet Sky, Y.O.L.O!!!!!, Tied to the Skies...
Ran: After that, That Is How I Roll and True Color...
Himari: Yep! Just looking at this set list is enough to get you pumped up!
Tsugumi: Having these five songs in a row might tire out the audience though...
Himari: A-ahaha, so you thought of that too, huh?
Ran: We may need a little more variety.
Tomoe: Now that you mention it, yeah, it's a little one-sided...
Moca: You guys probably focused too much on choosing songs that'll get a powerful response from the crowd.
Moca: High energy levels might be cool, but I think there's a little more to our band than just that.
Ran: Getting the venue fired up is important, yeah, but I don't think we should worry about what other people think. Wouldn't it be better to play the songs we wanna play?
Himari: N-now that you mention it...
Nghhh, yeah! That's much cooler!
Tomoe: Ran's right... Okay, let's make a new set list with the songs we wanna play!
Tsugumi: Mhm, I agree. Alright, we'll put it on this page.
Himari: "Afterglow"... "CiRCLE Event"... "Set List"... There!
Tomoe: Okay, first song... We'll probably want to lead with one that really matches our image.
Ran: You know which song would be good for that, right?
Himari: Ah, so you thought so too, Ran?
I had the same idea~!
Tsugumi: Fufu, sounds like we're all on the same page.
Moca: Sure does~. 'Kay, go ahead and write it, Hii-chan~.
Himari: Okay! You got it!
Tomoe: Yep, the first song has to be this one!
Himari: Mhm, we'll be doing things our way♪
Ran: The first song's got some fire to it. Maybe we can keep that heat going with the second.
Tomoe: How about Hey-day Capriccio then? It's pretty intense, but it gives off a different vibe than the first song.
Ran: Capriccio...?
Yeah, not a bad choice.
Moca: You got a "not bad" from Ran~.
Ran: Moca, shut up.
Tomoe: Hahaha. Cool, I'll write it down.
Himari: Capriccio, huh? You all remember when we wrote that song, right...?
Tsugumi: It was during summer vacation when we... Ah, never mind! We'd be better off not talking about it!
Tomoe: Y-yeah! Nothing good can come of remembering that day!
Moca: You're talking about the time with that sixth person~? Who could that have been~?
Ran, Himari, Tomoe & Tsugumi: ...!!
Ran: You don't know how to keep your mouth shut, do you, Moca?
Tsugumi: M-moving on! Let's think about the third song!
Moca: Hey, guys~, can I tell you which song I want to play~?
Ran: That's pretty much how we're deciding. Yeah, go ahead.
Himari: What is it? Tell us.
Moca: COMIC PANIC!!! Look, Tomo-chin is saying she wants to play it too~.
Tomoe: Huh? That's supposed to be me?
Ran: Pft, looks just like you.
Tsugumi: We weren't able to turn the story we thought of into a manga, but I'm glad we made it into a song.
Moca: It was good wasn't it~? I'd love to make some more manga~.
Ran: Do you have a song you wanna play, Tsugumi?
Tsugumi: Me? Hm, let's see... Ah! It'd be nice to play Jamboree! Journey!
Himari: We wrote that one after we went to Inoshima.
Tsugumi: We ate pancakes, went to the aquarium, watched the sunset on the beach... I had such a good time.
Tsugumi: I love that song because it's filled with those fun memories.
Ran & Tomoe: Tsugumi...
Tsugu...
Himari: Yeah, memories that belong to all of us! I think that's a good idea!
Ran, Tomoe & Moca: Agreed.
Tsugumi: Ehehe, okay. I'll write it down.
Tomoe: Cool, now for the last song. We'll want to end it with a bang.
Ran: ... I think we should play Tied to the Skies.
Ran: It says everything that needs to be said about the current Afterglow.
Ran: It represents the us who started at the sunset, who went beyond the night, and who found what lies beyond that.
Moca: Wow~, nicely put~.
I agree with putting this one last~.
Tomoe: So we lead with our image, pass through some memories, and end on this, huh?
Tsugumi: You know, it brings back so many memories of our first year in high school.
Himari: This set list is packed with what feels like us! Alright~, looks done to me~!!
Tomoe: Yep, from top to bottom!
Tsugumi: Nicely done, everyone.
Moca: And now that that's finished...
Ran: We just need to make sure to perform it well.
Himari: Okay~! We'll keep that in mind and work our butts off! Hey, hey, hoh~!

Pastel✽Palettes talk about the concept for their show.
What could it be...?

Aya: Hey, did you all hear about the event we'll be taking part in?
Chisato: Yes. Apparently, the theme driving it is "idols expressing themselves in their own way."
Hina: Ooo, so we don't even have to perform as a band?
Maya: That seems to be the case. There's supposed to be an idol on the list that plans to make udon noodles on stage...
Hina: Udon?! Ahaha, what?! That's so weird~!
Eve: What shall we do?
Chisato: I believe performing as a band is still a good idea. That's the way our group started.
Maya: Yeah! That's a very important part of our work as idols!
Aya: That's right! Hey, why don't we come up with a set list on our own?
Chisato: Yes, that feels appropriate to match the "in their own way" concept. I can agree to that.
Aya: Exactly! What about everyone else?
Hina: Yep, sounds good to me. And interesting!
Eve: I am also on board!
Maya: Okay, let's get right to it then. We'll have a set list to give the staff when we talk to them about what we want to do.
Aya: Anyone have a song they want to sing?
Hina: Yeah, I do! Wonderland Girl!!
Maya: I'd like to perform Hanamaru◎Andante. We could do that one first and build up from there.
Eve: I would like to play SURVIVOR Never Give Up! With a part where we have a sort of back-and-forth with the audience like last time...
Aya: O-okay... So Hanamaru◎Andante first, and then~...
Hina: Wonderland Girl!!
Chisato: Fufu. Okay, everyone, just relax. Should we start by thinking of what kind of performance we want to put on and what kind of theme it should have?
Hina: Aw, c'mon. Don't be such a stickler. We just have to play songs that are boppin', right♪
Maya: "Songs that are boppin' " might be able to become the theme!
Hina: Ohhh, yeah! Let's make it that-
Aya: N-no, that's not allowed!
I mean, it is allowed, but no!
Hina: Why not?
Maya: Ahaha... I suppose it'd be better if we used something more concrete. Sorry, Aya-san. I didn't need to add fuel to the boppin' fire.
Chisato: So for example, our theme could be a show where we lift the spirits of the people who were nice enough to come... Something like that?
Aya: Lift their spirits, huh? I... always have this same thought when we do an event. It feels like the crowd is the one putting me in a good mood.
Eve: What do you mean?
Aya: You know how the fans come and cheer us on whenever we have an event or a concert?
Aya: Hearing them fills me with joy. And that emotion makes me want to put on an even better show next time.
Maya: I received a letter that said I filled the person with courage, but at the same time, that letter did the same thing for me.
Maya: I feel as supported by the fans as I do by the rest of you!
Eve: That is right! Without them, there would be no Pastel*Palettes!
Aya: What if the theme of our set list is to communicate to our fans that we're grateful for all of the support that lifts us up?
Chisato: So we show our appreciation... Yes, sounds okay to me.
Hina: You go, Aya-chan~. Nice thinking. I definitely get a boppin' feeling when I talk to people who aren't me. That's the same thing, right?
Aya: Ahaha, yeah! That's exactly the idea!
Eve: Okay, let us come up with the set list, then!
Aya: Alright! Time to get to work!

Limitless Thoughts (Part 2)

The girls struggle to decide on their last song, when Aya makes a suggestion...

Talent Agency

Aya: Okay, let's get to it... Which songs should we choose?
Maya: It might be a good idea to create a set list that shows the crowd our appreciation in a way that will make them feel joy and make them want to cheer even more than they already were!
Eve: And then we'll put on a more powerful performance after hearing them!
Hina: Ahaha, it's an infinite loop! Interesting!
Aya: A song that will fill them with energy, right? I'd love if we could get them excited! What about Pasupa Revolutions☆?
Chisato: Hanamaru◎Andante is also an encouraging song. I would like to fit it in somewhere.
Hina: Aya-chan, shouldn't you write this down before you're overwhelmed like last time?
Aya: Mhm, good idea!
Okay, let's see...
Aya: There! How's that?
"The First Pastel*Palettes Set List Meeting!!"
Aya: And the theme is... "Communicate our appreciation to the fans and lift them up!" ... Done!
Eve: Wow! This feels like a real meeting!
Hina: So boring~. We need something more colorful! There, I think that's good!
Aya: Ah! Hey~, there's no space to write now~!
Maya: Hina-san, let's leave the doodles for later!
The set list comes first!
Maya: I want to play Luminous Once More. I can never forget the intensity I felt the first time we performed it.
Hina: That show was a blast! Something about it made me feel like we were all feeling the same thing at the same time~.
Aya: I want to do something that's even better! The crowd will definitely find joy in that!
Aya: "Luminous Once More"! "Convey intensity"...
Hina: Aya-chan, it's all crooked.
Why don't you have someone else write it?
Aya: Huh?! Oh, you're right... Ngh, I'm so bad at writing on the board. The same thing happens at school.
Chisato: Fufu, I'll be in charge of the board then. Could you lead the meeting, Aya-chan?
Aya: Thank you, Chisato-chan!
Okay, we've decided on the third song then.
Maya: If we want to make things as dramatic as we can, we want about two more songs.
Hina: Ah! What about that one song? Uhhh~... You know the one!
Aya: Which one?!
Hina: The onion song!
Eve: An onion song? Are you sure we had one?
Hina: Awww! Am I the only one who calls it that?
Maya: Not sure which one you're talking about, but I think that's a safe bet...
Chisato: Just a shot in the dark here, but... SURVIVOR Never Give Up!...?
Hina: Yeah! Of course you would understand, Chisato-chan~. It has that part with the crying in it, so I just call it the onion song♪
Aya: Yeah, no one else calls it that... But everyone always has a good time when we do that song! I'd love to perform it!
Eve: It's a very fun song. That's another one where we can have the crowd get involved♪
Chisato: Okay, then. I suppose we'll do... the onion song.
Hina: Yay~!! Onions♪
Maya: Alright, let's put them in order and decide on the last song! The first song is...
Aya: Okay, so that's the order we're going with.
Hina: The picture of the onion you drew is so cute, Chisato-chan! Look, it's kinda like a human, isn't it?
Chisato: Stop, Hina-chan... I only drew it because you asked me to... We should just erase it.
Hina: C'mon~! You don't have to do that~. At least let me take a photo first.
Maya: A-anyway, can we get to the last song?!
Aya: The final piece... The finale is always a hard one. And we've been closing with Luminous Once More lately.
Eve: That is correct. This time, though, we have that song first. How should we end it then?
Chisato: With Pasupa Revolutions☆ fourth, I think we want to carry the upbeat momentum all the way to the end.
Maya: Hm~, this is definitely not an easy choice... Having a more calming ending to segue out of the performance could work too...
Aya: We want to show them our appreciation... Oh, I know!!
Aya: What about Shuwarin☆Dreaming?
Hina: Ooo, didn't see that one coming. Why that song?
Aya: It's where we began. It's the first song we played for an audience. Even if that ended up being a disaster...
Aya: I just have the feeling of wanting to perform that song on stage again. We've put in a lot of work up until this point, right?
Chisato: It all comes full circle... Yeah, not a bad idea. We're able to perform that song again not only because of our hard work...
Chisato: But especially because the fans accepted us when we returned to the stage. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't be living the life we are now.
Aya: Yeah! That's exactly right! The song brings painful memories and enjoyable memories! That's why...
Aya: That's why... Ngh...
Hina: Huh?! Why are you crying?!
Aya: I can't help it!! I'm remembering so many things...
Eve: Do not cry, Aya-san! We'll be making more memories of smiles starting now!
Maya: That's true, Aya-san! We have to have smiles on our faces when we show the fans how grateful we are.
Aya: Y-yeah... We do!
Chisato: Alright, I believe that does it for the set list. Let's have the staff look it over.
Hina: Yep, I think it's good.
Onions~♪
Eve: Fufu, I hope the fans like it!
Aya: I'm sure they will!
Aya: With it, we'll show them an us that's better than ever before!

Ako: S-sorry I'm late!
Rinko: It's okay... Ako-chan... You cut it close... but you made it...
Ako: I did?! Yay~!
Lisa: Homeroom was a lot longer than it should've been, huh?
Ako: Yeah! Just when I thought it was over, the teacher started this rant! It was bad~.
Ako: Uhhh, we're supposed to have a meeting before we rehearse, right?
Sayo: Does that imply that we have a concert coming up?
Yukina: Yes, that is correct.
Yukina: Marina-san called yesterday. CiRCLE will be hosting an event soon, and they want us to take part.
Rinko: Right... I think I remember... her saying something... about an event... with a lot of different bands...
Yukina: She told me that they would be bringing together bands regardless of whether they're pros or amateurs, as long as they like them.
Sayo: I see. They're basically hosting a music festival.
Lisa: A festival, huh? Thinking of it that way gets me kind of excited.
Ako: So there'll be more bands than usual right? That's makes me a bit nervous!
Yukina: There's nothing to be nervous about.
Yukina: It doesn't matter how many bands take part. What we have to do is no different.
Rinko: Stay true... to Roselia... right...?
Yukina: Yes, exactly.
Sayo: Fufu, I knew you would say that, Minato-san.
Ako: Yukina-san... Rin-rin, Sayo-san... You're all so cool!
Lisa: Stay true to Roselia... Yeah, that sounds about right. We play our music and give them a good show. That's the most important thing.
Lisa: Alrighty, now you've got me worked up! Let's get to practicing already... is what I would like to say, but we have to come up with a set list, right?
Sayo: Agreed. However, with the number of bands that will be participating, there will surely be many audience members who have never heard us play before.
Yukina: Two things are necessary. We have to communicate who Roselia is to first-time listeners, and we have to satisfy the current fans.
Ako: So we have to make it easy to understand Roselia, and we have to make the people who know us go "whoaaa"? Hmmm, what kind of songs do we need for that?
Rinko: We must... think hard... about this... Or we'll end up... with something... that fully achieves nothing...
Sayo: Agreed. We have to consider our options carefully.
Lisa: Hmm. Okay, how about we all think of a set list on our own first?
Lisa: If we all come up with one that we think is perfect, then we can come together and figure out what we should play based on that.
Ako: That could work! Lisa-nee, you might just be a genius!
Sayo: Okay, but I think randomly trying to come up with something will only invite confusion.
Sayo: Shouldn't we at least have an idea of the show's structure and a general objective?
Rinko: An objective... You mean... we should... decide on a theme... right?
Yukina: Sayo and Rinko are right.
Yukina: In that case... Okay, let's make "pride" the theme of the set list.
Yukina: That's something we can't afford to lose as Roselia continues forward and aims for the top.
Yukina: I want everyone to think of a set list that will demonstrate that concept.
Lisa: Okay~. Yeah, I think I can work with that!
Rinko: Mhm. I think that's... the perfect theme... for this next show.
Sayo: I agree. Alright, let's come back together in fifteen minutes.
Ako: Okay! Sounds good to me!
Ako: Prepare for a set list that shows everything cool about Roselia like "kaboom" and makes everyone's heart go "ba-doom!"
Lisa: Ahaha, don't think I'll let you show me up~.
Rinko: Fufu...
Yukina: Great. I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Sayo: ... It appears everyone has completed their set list.
Yukina: We'll start with Ako... Actually, no. We can all share what we have at the same time.
Ako: Everyone at once?!
Sayo: Yes, that would allow us to get through this more quickly. Alright, we'll show what we have on three.
Rinko: O-okay...
Lisa: Ready~? Here we go~. One, two, three!
Ako: Wow, Lisa-nee and I have the same song first! Sayo-san too!
Ako: For our second song... Wait. Do we all have the same set list?
Sayo: It would appear so.
Lisa: Ahaha, that's amazing! Who could've seen that coming?!
Rinko: I know... I sure didn't...
Yukina: Is it really that surprising? I had a feeling this would happen.
Ako: What?! Does that mean you were reading our minds?!
Yukina: Obviously not. It's simple... I can't imagine there being a more appropriate set list when the theme is pride.
Yukina: And you all thought the same thing. That's all.
Lisa: So it's like our minds and hearts are one or something? That's nice, but it also feels kinda weird to think about.
Rinko: Yeah...
Sayo: So this will be the order.
"Song #1: BLACK SHOUT."
"Song #2: Re:birth Day."
Yukina: Sunkissed Rhodonite, then Neo-Aspect. Lastly, LOUDER.
Ako: Let me write! Uhhh, "Sunkissed Rhodonite"...
Rinko: Ah, Ako-chan... You only need... two lines... for the first character...
Ako: Oh, really? Sorry, Rin-rin. And thank you!
Sayo: Sigh. I can already imagine the next two being misspelled.
Lisa: Ahaha, I'll write Neo-Aspect then♪
You write the last song, Yukina.
Yukina: No problem.
Lisa: Hm~. Doing this makes me think of when Roselia was first formed. Everything started when Yukina asked Sayo to join.
Ako: I remember asking over and over if I could join and finally having my drumming skills tested!
Yukina: Yes. You made it very hard to get rid of you.
Ako: Y-Yukina-san~!
Lisa: Ahaha. In the end, the five of us made up Roselia... We've butted heads along the way. And we all joined the band for different reasons. There was also...
Lisa: The thing with Yukina's dad. A bunch of stuff.
Rinko: Mhm, but... we all had... the desire to play our music... So we came together... once again...
Sayo: That's right. We also took part in Future World Fes together.
Lisa: It was a close one, but we didn't have what it took to push the final result in our favor.
Yukina: Correct. However, it wasn't a meaningless endeavor.
Ako: A whole lot of stuff happened after that too! We had a mess of a rehearsal when Lisa-nee couldn't be there...
Lisa: Ahaha, sure did!
Sayo: For whatever reason, I feel like there has been a more positive air surrounding Roselia since that day.
Rinko: Mhm. I believe that day... made us all treasure Roselia... even more than before...
Lisa: But I feel like that also kept us from seeing eye to eye around the time when we made Neo-Aspect.
Yukina: Yes, but more importantly... I think that misunderstanding happened because we had all changed.
Yukina: I did too. I was no longer the girl just chasing her dad's legacy. Everyone had changed little by little until we were no longer on the same page.
Sayo: That's right. And we overcame that.
Ako: And that's why LOUDER comes last, right?!
Rinko: ...? Ako-chan? Why did you draw... a demon king?
Ako: What?! That's no demon king!
That's Yukina-san's dad~!
Sayo: Minato-san's father is rather intense.
Yukina: He's not like this.
Lisa: Also, you've never even met her dad, have you, Ako?
Lisa: One of these, and one of these... He's like this☆ Yep, I think it came out pretty well, if I do say so myself!
Yukina: Hello? Don't make a game of my father.
Lisa: Ahaha... Sorry~. But still...
Lisa: The reason Roselia exists is that you were following your dad's path.
Lisa: And LOUDER, a song that was once his, is now one of our most precious songs.
Sayo: I don't think there's a song more suitable for finishing the set list.
Yukina: Yes, I would agree.
Yukina: Like I said, this is the best selection if the theme is to be pride.
Yukina: No set list could create the feeling of the road we've walked and the things we've made and brought with us like this one can.
Ako: Yep! I agree one-hundred percent!
Sayo: Well, now that we've decided what to play, why don't we start rehearsing?
Sayo: There's no point in just figuring out the order of the songs and then immersing ourselves in all these memories. We have to perfect our playing by the time of the show.
Yukina: Yes, Sayo is right.
Yukina: Our next step to the top must consist of looking back on our experiences and looking forward to the future where we'll improve ourselves.
Yukina: We must advance without being too hasty and without making light of what's to come. As the five of us, of course.
Lisa & Sayo: Okay!
Certainly.
Ako & Rinko: Yeah!!
Yes...!
Yukina: We aim for a top that only we can reach.
And we will find it, no matter what!

Kanon: Hello~, kindergarteners~!
Kokoro, Hagumi & Kaoru: Hello~!
Misaki: ...
Kanon: H-hm? What's wrong, Misaki-chan? Join Kanon-sensei in her greeting. Cheerfully, now.
Kokoro: Yeah! The louder you are, the funner it is!
Hagumi: C'mon, Mii-kun! Letting yourself feel embarrassed will only make you more embarrassed.
Kaoru: Go forth, Misaki. Let yourself be free!
Misaki: Ngh... No, I... Arghhh! No more! We don't have to do this.
Kanon: What's the matter, Misaki-chan? If something's bothering you, you can tell your teacher...
Misaki: Kanon-san... You're really enjoying yourself, aren't you...?
Kanon: Huh? Oh, yes. Actually... being called Kanon-sensei puts me in a good mood... Ehehe.
Misaki: Sigh... We're not here to just play around. We came because we have to talk about our show coming up.
Kokoro: Oh, are we done? I wanted to play kindergarten for a little longer.
Hagumi: We were doing this because of the show, right? We wanted to imagine what it would be like to be those kids.
Kaoru: It is as Shakespeare once said, "It is a wise father that knows his own child." Likely an indication that comprehending the heart and soul of a child is no small feat.
Misaki: That might be true, but that doesn't mean we need to turn into children...
Misaki: Is that okay? Can we get back to the business at hand? We're here today to figure out what we should perform at the Children's Festival being held downtown.
Hagumi: I have such good memories of that festival! I went when I was a kid too! It was so much fun!
Kanon: The nearby kindergartens, nurseries and the people downtown create it together. Everyone in the area takes part.
Kaoru: To think that Hello, Happy World! would be invited to such a grand event. I have reached the limits of joy.
Kokoro: That means our band's work to make everyone smile is reaching the people of the town!
Misaki: Exactly. And we won't just be performing for children. The chaperones and the adults from the area will be there to watch.
Kanon: So we need to do something that will keep the children and the adults entertained.
Kaoru: And that is precisely why we started with a little role-playing. An attempt to comprehend a child's emotions...
Misaki: I already told you, we're done with that. Now, let's come up with some ideas. Anything?
Kokoro: I have one! It has to be a performance that makes everyone smile, of course! From the little kids to the elderly!
Hagumi: I think if everyone gets their body moving, the smiles will come! It'll be like a kids' TV show!
Kaoru: A TV show, you say? Yes, that will allow the chaperones to be entertained as well. Even better would be a showing that helps deepen the bond between parent and child.
Kanon: Also, I'm sure there are many kids nervous about the start of the school year. It'd be nice if we could help them get along better with their new friends...
Misaki: Ah, hold on. I gotta take notes... Okay, we're good.
Kanon: By 'kids' TV show', you mean the ones where there's a woman and a mascot singing and dancing, right?
Hagumi: Yeah! We have Michelle, so it's perfect, isn't it?
Kokoro: Great idea! We could have everyone dance along to Hello, Happy World!'s songs! That would be so much fun!
Kaoru: And we must fill the role of the singing woman... What shall this character be like...? Now, time to act it out.
Misaki: No more role-playing.
Kaoru: Oh, there is no playing here.
This is a necessity.
Kaoru: We cannot forgo a dance that the children can follow. One taught by the singing and dancing woman!
Kanon: Right, there is no dance for any of our songs. We'd have to make one.
Hagumi: It should be one where you move a lot!
Kokoro: And one where you have a lot of fun!
Misaki: We need a dance? Sounds pretty hard... I'm pretty sure we can work something out for one song though.
Kokoro: It'll be fine. If we all dance now, I'm sure we'll come up with something good! Misaki, play the music!
Misaki: I guess... Let's try it out.
Ready?
Hagumi: Get the music started!

Kokoro: When it goes "kira kira♪"... That's when we wave our hands like this? What do you think?!
Hagumi: Okay, then "pika pika♪"... That part should be like this!
Kaoru: Shall we try our hand at other songs? A moment when we take to the air at the sound of the word "jump" is what I desire.
Kanon: "Peta peta, pettan"... Maybe we can dance like a penguin for that. Like Pen-chan.
Misaki: Uhhh, you guys. Sorry to rain on your parade... or dance party or whatever, but I have an announcement.
Kokoro: What's wrong, Misaki?
... Ah, I know! It's snack time!
Misaki: No. It's not good news. About our performance at the Children's Festival... It's only twenty minutes long.
Hagumi: Really? That seems kinda short?
Okay, what about that?
Kanon: Ah... So we don't have time to do a lot of songs... That's what you're trying to say?
Misaki: Exactly. If we wanted to take up the whole time, we could do four, maybe five songs at most.
Kaoru: Hm... And we shall all take part in a dance. In order to do that, all must have time to practice said dance, regardless of how easy it is to remember.
Kokoro: Yep. There's no point if we're the only ones dancing. The kids have to do it too.
Misaki: In which case... I think only one song can have a dance.
Hagumi: Only one~? Okay, then we'll have to decide on which!
Hagumi: Hmmm, which one should it be~? We definitely want one where they'll have smiles on their face and be excited to move.
Kaoru: Excited and smiling children...? I recall one child at the thought. I wonder how she's doing.
Kokoro: I thought of her too! Akari, right?! The girl who forgot how to smile that we met at the hospital.
Hagumi: She's out of the hospital now, and she's walking! She and I played catch the other day!
Kanon: You did! That's great to hear. And I'm happy we were able to help her get to that point, if we did.
Hagumi: It was those magical words that bring out a smile! Happiness, happy magical♪
Misaki: Happiness! Happy Magical♪ That song could work. Seems easy to dance to, and I think it'll put everyone in a cheerful mood.
Kanon: Mhm, it's perfect!
Kokoro: Okay, dance time!
Misaki, start the music!
Misaki: Yeah, yeah... Ah, I should probably write the moves down. Otherwise, we'd probably forget them.
Kaoru: Splendid. Shall we draw then?
Misaki: "Hello, Happy World! Children's Festival Dance Moves."
Kokoro: The song is Happiness! Happy Magical♪ Okay, I've thought of something.
Kokoro: The beginning is about wanting to change! Something like this!
Hagumi: Kokoron, what is this? It's a wiggling... something.
Kaoru: It appears to be... a desire to change and uncertainty. I suppose this... is what you wish to express. Fingers touching upon the head, neck slightly tilted...
Kokoro: Awesome, Kaoru!
Let's do this pose!
Kanon: Then, everyone could turn to the person next to them and do a move where they whisper to each other... That might be fun.
Hagumi: I wanna do a poke-poke-kissy-kissy move! Like this! Poke♪
Misaki: Ah! Ugh...! Hagumi!
Hagumi: I'm sorry, Mii-kun~.
Kokoro: I think that pretty much does it!
Let's all try out our new dance!
Hagumi: Wait, hold on... Won't we be playing instruments during the show?
Kanon: That's right. Hagumi, Kaoru and I probably won't be able to dance.
Kaoru: How could this be? To lose the ability to demonstrate this dance we have created in our own way... So fleeting...
Kokoro: It's too bad we won't be able to do it together... Michelle and I will dance for the rest of you!
Misaki: Yeah, that's how it goes. I'm actually surprised you all thought you'd be able to join in.
Misaki: This is exactly the right time for Michelle to come in. It'll be taken care of, no worries.
Kanon: Thank you, Misaki-chan.
Misaki: Alright, let's run through what we're doing for the show. First, we'll practice the Happiness! Happy Magical♪ dance with the kids.
Hagumi: After that, the real party begins! How long will it take to get to that point?
Kaoru: It's certainly not the most complicated choreography. I believe going through it once should suffice.
Kanon: Yeah, too much practice and they might get bored.
Misaki: Which leaves over... about ten minutes in all. Then what?
Kokoro: Let's do another song! We have plenty more that'll make the people smile!
Kaoru: Let me consider... How about Goka! Gokai?! Phantom Thief!?
Kaoru: It stars a character the children are sure to love. Happy Phantom Thief... makes an elegant appearance on the paper!
Hagumi: What about Fuwa Fuwa ☆ Dreamy Sandwich? If we can make that one work, it'd be nice to have other fluffy mascots come. Like Marie!
Kanon: Wacha-Mocha Pettan March would be fun... Everyone could waddle like a penguin.
Kokoro: Let's hear what you want, Misaki! All you've been doing is taking notes!
Misaki: What I want? Hmmm... How about Worldwide Treasure!?
Misaki: The children screaming "yo, yo" would be cute. And it'd be surprisingly fitting for the new school year. Since their world is expanding, you know?
Kokoro: Sounds good to me! Let's do it!
Misaki: Which do you wanna do, Kokoro?
Kokoro: Let's see... I choose Orchestra Of Smiles!
Kaoru: We could never forget about that song. It was our very first one.
Kokoro: ... And I'd love to play I need you! It'd be as fun as a parade!
Kanon: ... We ended up with a lot of songs... I think we're gonna have to choose one.
Kokoro: Why don't we just do all of them then?! It'd be better that way anyway!
Kaoru: I don't believe there's enough time? What do you say, Misaki?
Misaki: Most definitely not... That doesn't mean it's impossible though.
Hagumi: What?! Why not?!
Misaki: We could shorten the songs and make a medley or something.
Kokoro: A medley... Yeah, let's do that! We want to show them everything that comes with our smiles!
Kanon: Yeah, all of it! I want us to get in as many smiles as we can.
Kaoru: Innocent smiles on a blossoming stage... So fleeting...
Hagumi: We'll do everything that was can so the children and adults downtown have a great time!
Misaki: Alright, that means there's a lot of work to do. Let's get to it!
Kokoro, Kaoru, Hagumi & Kanon: Yeah!
