Hello~.
Marina
You see, the number of people using CiRCLE has increased thanks to you all, so we wanted to take this opportunity to revamp our website.
Marina
Anyway, we thought it'd be cool to have pages introducing a few of the bands that perform here often. That's what I called you all here for.
Marina
Ah, don't look into it too much. I just want to ask you a few casual questions. I'll put everything together afterwards.
Marina
Since we're already interviewing you, I thought it'd be best to base the questions off of the ones in this notebook.
Tae
I remember seeing a lot of comments written about our concerts, but I never noticed there were questions too.
Marina
Many of the them are from people who are looking into starting a band, so try to answer these questions as if you're a mentor giving a student advice.
Marina
Alright, then let's start with this one. Let's see... "I started playing an instrument, but I'm not improving. Do you have any good practice methods?"
Kasumi
Of course! Learning to love music is the most important part! It's just like they always say, it's all about passion!
Arisa
You know, I don't think they're asking for a philosophical answer. You need to give them something more concrete, or it's not gonna be much help.
Rimi
If you try to play perfectly right away, you'll end up falling behind the rhythm no matter what.
Rimi
Rhythm is very important to playing the bass, so even if I made a mistake while playing along, I still kept going.
Arisa
Looking back on it now, there certainly were times where it felt like we were practicing in slow motion in the beginning...
Tae
Talking and playing the guitar at the same time requires you to be able to focus on multiple things at once, so it turned out to be great practice.
Marina
I see~. Thanks, you guys! Okay. I think that should do it for this question. Our next question is...
Saaya
Yeah... It wasn't that bad though. There was one time where I sent my drumsticks flying during a show.
All
What?!
Saaya
It was at the beginning of the song. Just as I raised my arms to start drumming, the drumsticks flew out of my hand, like whoosh... Fufufu.
Saaya
Lucky for me, I had an extra pair prepared just in case, so I quickly grabbed those. I made it in time for the song, but it was pretty close~.

Marina
It says, "I want to start a band. What do you think is the fun part of being in a band and doing concerts?" ... Well, what do you think?
Arisa
I mean, we don't have to think about it too hard. Why don't we just talk about the first thing we ever found enjoyable?
Arisa
S-so what?! I mean, we're answering this question for someone who wants to start a band. I have to give them a proper answer!
Tae
My answer is similar to Arisa's, but for me, it's when our sounds combine. After all, you can only do that in a band.
Kasumi
Yeah, yeah! I totally know what you mean! Hearing all of our sounds become one is the best~āŖ
Saaya
I had already left a band once, so I really understand how fun that can be, and how much you should appreciate it.
Rimi
I used to play together with my sister, but it's definitely different in a band. You have so many different sounds coming together, and that just makes it all the more fun.
Marina
Leave it to Tae-chan to come up with such a great expression~. Maybe I'll make that the headline.
Rimi
Ah! Also, when we're on stage, it feels like our music really reaches everyone supporting us in the crowd. That always makes me emotional.
Arisa
Then say something in your own words. I'm sure there are plenty of people who want to hear what you have to say.
Kasumi
No matter how hard I look, I'll never find another moment like what I experience at a concert. That's what makes them so fun for me.
Kasumi
And the fact that I get to share that moment with everyone in the same time and space as me is the cherry on top!
Marina
Thanks again, you guys~. There's still a lot I want to ask, but I think that should be enough.
Marina
Don't worry. I still have one more thing I'd like you guys to do. Now where's my video camera...? Here it is.
Marina
You see, since there are so many people who want to try forming a band or playing music, I thought it'd be nice to film an encouraging message for them.
Tae
You may not be able to play all the guitar chords at first, but you'll get there eventually, so don't give up. It'd be a waste to stop before you even get started.
Saaya
You might fight with your bandmates sometimes, but when that happens, you just need to come together and tell them how you're feeling.
Rimi
Your friends are going to influence you in many ways, so take that opportunity to find a new you.
Arisa
As for me... I just have to say that being in a band makes everything in your life more fun... Even your activities outside of music will become more enjoyable...
Kasumi
I've discovered so many more things I love since I joined my band! I've learned to treasure every single sparkling, heart-pounding moment!

Hello! Hey~!
Tomoe
Ah, so that's what you were talking about! I thought Poppin'Party was the one making a website.
Marina
I wouldn't call it an interview. I want to make pages introducing all the bands for our website, so I'm asking for all your help.
Himari
S-sorry about that. It's like Ran said, though. You're always helping us out, so let's get started.
Marina
Alright, then let's start with the first question. "I started playing an instrument, but I'm not improving. Do you have any good practice methods?"
Moca
Remember, Ran? You got all emotional when you finally managed to play a note. You even said, "It made a sound...!"
Ran
Now that I think about it, that song only had four chords. That was probably a good place to start.
Himari
That's true! It's harder to improve if you start with something complicated right away. Plus, it could've really ruin the experience for us.
Tsugumi
We were all over the place at first. I remember being so moved when our sound finally started coming together.
Marina
I'm gonna move onto the next question, okay? Let's see... "Has anything unexpected ever happened to you in the middle of a concert?"
Moca
Don't you? I don't know what concert it was, but Hii-chan tried to get the crowd going by chanting, "Hey! Hey! Hoh!"
Moca
No one knew how to react, so they just went. "Yay~..." I guess you could say that was pretty unexpected~.
Himari
Oh~! You guys are so mean! That wasn't unexpected at all! I know you won't do it normally, but you could at least chant along with me during our shows!
Tsugumi
In that case, I guess you could say the same thing about the time Tomoe-chan tried to get us to yell "Soi-ya!"
Ran & Moca & Himari
Yeah~...

Marina
Let's see, the next question is... "I want to start a band. What do you think is the fun part of being in a band and doing concerts?"
Himari
The fun part, huh...? Isn't that pretty hard to answer? I mean, being in a band is fun most of the time.
Ran
How do I say this...? Getting the crowd excited is fun and all, but everything leading up to that is also important...
Ran
I guess the most fun part for me is hearing everyone's opinions on a song and watching it slowly become an Afterglow song...
Marina
Being able to ask your bandmates for advice is one of the big benefits to being in a band. You're never on your own. That's definitely part of the fun.
Marina
Huh? Didn't Kasumi-chan and the others tell you? I'm filming encouraging video messages for the people who want to start bands or music.
Tomoe
I'll go first! Um, this is for all the people out there thinking of starting a band or instrument!
Tomoe
Use your music to strengthen your friendships. As long as you play music with people you can talk to with intensity, you'll do great!
Tsugumi
If you're still debating whether or not you want to start, I say go for it! You've got to strike while the iron is hot! We're here for you!
Himari
If you're scared to start on your own, try talking to your friends! They should be able to help!

Hello~.
Marina
... Hm? Aren't you guys a little early? We still have thirty minutes before we're supposed to meet...
Chisato
We like to avoid being late at all cost, so we make it a habit to arrive early to any appointments we have.
Marina
I don't really have anything else going on, so why don't we get started a little early? You see, I-
Hina
We heard all about it! You're gonna interview us, right? We were all talking about it in the group chat.
Marina
I see, then that makes things easier. We're updating CiRCLE's website. Do you think you guys could help out? Please?
Maya
You don't have to be so timid about it. CiRCLE is always helping us. This is the least we can do.
Eve
I have been interviewed by magazines before, but the fact that it is Marina-san doing the interview does feel a bit strange.
Marina
Fufufu, it's nice to know you can all relax around me. Um, alright, then let's start with the first question.
Marina
Here we go. "I started playing an instrument, but I'm not improving. Do you have any good practice methods?" ... Well? Any suggestions?
Maya
No, wait, I'm sure plenty of people want to hear about what you do to practice your vocals, Aya-san. You should definitely share it with everybody!
Aya
Yeah, that's probably the bulk of it. Singing in concert takes a lot of strength, so I exercise a lot. I run, do sit-ups and push-ups... All sorts of stuff.
Chisato
Umm... You're a bit special in that regard, so I don't think that'll make for good advice...
Chisato
I certainly watched how they positioned their fingers, but I also watched how they moved onstage, how they looked around the room, and what expressions they were making.
Aya
I see~... Ah, now that I think about it, whenever I was having trouble with something, I'd watch a video of Ayumi-san performing to get some hints!
Maya
Yup, that's the same thing! It's also a good idea to do some light practice before getting a good night's sleep.
Maya
That way you can give your mind the chance to really absorb the practice. When you wake up the next morning, you might find that you can now do the parts you were having trouble with before.
Eve
I have actually tested out what Maya-san just said, and it truly does work! I highly recommend it!
Marina
The next question is... "I want to start a band. What do you think is the fun part of being in a band and doing concerts?"
Chisato
I find the intensity of a concert truly amazing. You don't experience that when filming for a drama or movie.
Maya
Even if it's the same music, playing in concert is much more exciting than playing in the studio.
Hina
When I think about how a bunch of strangers come to our concerts just to see us, I can't help but feel boppin'āŖ
Eve
Both our band and our fans are giving their all during a concert! You can really feel the bushido!
Aya
Hey, do you guys ever feel like you give a better performance because of the fans' energy at a concert? I definitely do.
Chisato
Sometimes. I also have moments where I'll notice things during a concert that I didn't during practice.
Aya
Same here! After seeing our fans' reactions, I'll think to myself, "Oh, so that's what those lyrics mean!"
Chisato
Unlike other bands, the songs we perform are made for us. While we certainly try to discuss the meaning of our songs during practice...
Aya
I think one of the most enjoyable parts of a show is being able to help those people forget their worries and smile.
Aya
A video message for all the people who want to start playing music, right?! We heard all about it.
Aya
If you're thinking of starting a band or instrument, this message is for you. Things may not go as planned at first, but just do your best and don't ever give up!
Hina
You really are the best~. You know, I guess this band is the reason I got to meet interesting people like Aya-chan.
Hina
And the same goes for everyone watching. Make sure you meet lots of people and discover all sorts of boppin' stuffāŖ
Maya
This doesn't just apply to music, but one of the best things about being in a band is enjoying everyone's individual styles!
Chisato
Alright then... This message is for everyone out there thinking of starting a band or instrument. As you can probably tell, music is the reason everyone in Pastelā½Palettes is so close.
Chisato
Never forget your love of music. As long as you have that, the time you spend on it will be filled with joy.

Hello~.
Marina
I don't think it's something that you guys would notice yourselves. It feels like Roselia's really powered up since Future World Fes.
Marina
Ah, right, my bad. You've got practice after this! In that case, I'll get right down to it...
Lisa
Ah, this is for those interviews I've heard so much about, right? Himari posted about it online.
Marina
Fufufu, she really makes it easier to explain everything. I'll have to thank Himari-chan later.
Marina
Alright, can I start with the first question? "I started playing an instrument, but I'm not improving. Do you have any good practice methods?"
Sayo
You cannot go wrong with increasing the amount of time you practice. The more you work at it, the better you will become.
Rinko
I try to figure out if it's... because I'm not skilled enough... or if I'm... picturing the song incorrectly...
Ako
If your image of the song is different from everyone else, it's gonna sound weird no matter what you do.
Lisa
Likewise, it's really important to listen to the sounds around you. You need to figure out what kind of image the rest of your bandmates are trying to create.
Yukina
You have to decide what you want to achieve through your current practice. Otherwise you'll end up distracted, and the practice will go to waste.
Lisa
You do bring that up before every practice. We always decide what we want to work on beforehand.
Marina
So it's all about having a goal in mind, huh~? I'm sure that'll be very helpful. Thanks, guys!
Marina
The next question is... "Has anything unexpected ever happened to you in the middle of a concert?" ... Well? Has Roselia ever had any mishaps?
Sayo
All concerts come with their fair share of incidents... However, you should prepare yourself so that nothing phases you enough to cause one.
Sayo
I've had bowstrings on my guitar snap while on stage, but when that happens, I simply change my positioning and carry on.
Sayo
Other times, I'll change the octave all together. As long as you are able to make that judgment call and follow through, you can handle the unexpected before it's too late.
Ako
I don't know if you can call this unexpected, but I get the feeling Lisa-nee's been bringing more cookies lately.
Transcript
Marina
Phew~, those cookies sure were good, Lisa-chan~. It'd be really easy to eat too many of them.
Ako
Right~? She brings these cookies to every single practice. There's no way I can avoid gaining weight~.
Yukina
That being said, your cookies certainly help fuel our practices. I see nothing wrong with bringing them.
Marina
Let's see... "I want to start a band. What do you think is the fun part of being in a band and doing concerts?"
Marina
Hmm~, well, that's what everyone else has been saying, but could you give me a slightly more specific example? I'd appreciate it.
Rinko
I think... If you're only looking for fun... You can find that... outside of a band as well...
Ako
Ah! I like working towards the same goal with everybody else~. It's like we're all in the same party in an RPG! It's so cool!
Lisa
It kinda sucks when you hit a wall, but once you've overcome it with your bandmates, you feel accomplished and glad you joined a bandāŖ
Lisa
Oh~, now that was deep~. Alright, then that leaves you, Yukina! What do you find fun about music and being in a band?
Yukina
Don't put that much pressure on me. My answer is actually very simple. The fun part of being in a band-... No, of being in Roselia is...
Yukina
That being said, I only came to that conclusion recently. I'm not sure that's applicable to someone looking to start a band.
Marina
Alright, I've just got one last request. Could I get a message from each of you to the people looking to start playing music? Alright, here we go!
Ako
Remember this and all will be well. You must take the fiery passion within you and... umm... ride the... uhh... sound of the music! Then you'll have a blast!
Rinko
Music will... guide you to... a new and improved you... I'm sure you'll find... a side of yourself... you didn't know existed...
Sayo
There may be times where you do not feel as though you have improved, despite your daily practices.
Sayo
Just remember that struggling is necessary sometimes. If you plan on continuing down a path, it is important to rest.

Kokoro
Sorry we kept you waiting, Marina! You're interviewing us today, right?! Then let's get started!
Kaoru
Fufu, this was a request from the one and only Marina-san, after all. It is the least we can do. Now then, let us begin the interview.
Hagumi
I've never been interviewed before, and I've always wanted to know what it's like! Thanks, Marina-san!
Marina
The first question is... "I started playing an instrument, but I'm not improving. Do you have any good practice methods?"
Kokoro
That doesn't matter! Playing music with a smile is the most important thing, no matter what you do!
Kaoru
What's more, your practice must be... fleeting. A smile may be important but so is a sense of fleetingness.
Kaoru
Conjure the fleetingness with your mind and absorb it into your being. At times, let it flash forth with fiery passion, and other times, you must treasure it quietly. It is but that...
Misaki
If you say smiling, that means our page is gonna be filled with talk of smiles, food, and fleeting. Are you really okay with that?
Kanon
Fuee~, I'm sorry. I just couldn't think of anything on the spot~. Just give me a minute to think it over... Hmm...
Kokoro
I see. Well, we can't have her missing such an important meeting. In that case, what do you think she would say? You must know, right, Misaki?
Misaki
Instead of practicing by yourself, do it with somebody else. With another person there, you'll want to get better for that person's sake.
Kaoru
Fufu, Hello, Happy World! truly is a band guided by fate. Though we may be apart, our feelings are forever entwined... Ah, how fleeting.
Marina
Now, our next question is... "Has anything unexpected ever happened to you in the middle of a concert?"
Misaki
I mean... Hello, Happy World!'s existence itself is a bit unexpected... We can't possibly list them all...
Kaoru
The little ones kept venturing onto the stage, so our dear Kokoro taught them all a dance, which we did together.
Misaki
Anyway, that's what our concerts are usually like... I don't think our stories will really help anyone...
Transcript
Kaoru
But of course. My little kittens surely wish to know more about us, so as long as time permits, I shall continue to answer your inquiries.
Marina
Let's see... "I want to start a band. What do you think is the fun part of being in a band and doing concerts?"
Kaoru
Fufu, fret not, dear Hagumi. Fun is something you feel with your heart, not your head. Of course you cannot put it into words.
Kanon
I think being in a band has made me more courageous. As long as we're together, I feel like there's nothing I can't do.
Kokoro
So if you want to join a band, than join a band! But if you want to do something else, do that instead!
Kokoro
Instead of just being in a band, you should try all sorts of things. That way you'll have even more fun, and you'll smile more too!
Hagumi
I mean, I love being in a band, but I also love softball! Thanks, Kokoron! I'll never forget what you said today!
Kaoru
Kokoro... You and I truly do share the same soul. With your words, a new poem has come to mind.
Misaki
Still, getting to meet people like you guys is probably the most enjoyable part of being in a band for me...
Marina
Okay, the last thing I want from you guys is a message to everyone looking to start a band or instrument... Let me get the camera.
Kaoru
To my little kittens who yearn to join a band, merely seeing a concert will only reveal half the fun of a musical performance. If you wish to experience the real deal, you must try it yourselves.
Kaoru
I, Kaoru Seta, will forever be by your side. I hope you will take this chance to pursue the path to your desires.
Hagumi
It's okay if you can't play your instrument at first! The most important thing is to have fun playing music! As long as you give it your all, you'll get better!
Misaki
And coming from me, that means a lot. Although, I wouldn't recommend playing in a mascot costume... Hahaha.
Kokoro
If you want to play in a band, then get out there and play! Don't waste time thinking about it!
Kokoro
If everyone does what they love, our smiles will spread, and soon, the whole world will be smiling!
All
Yaaay~!!
