Charlotte Louise Misono

Charlotte Louise Misono (シャルロット・ルイーズ・三園) is a second-year French exchange student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School. She is also Kokoro's childhood friend, and similarly to her, comes from an extremely wealthy family.

She was first mentioned in the Let's Start a New Party! event where Misaki said a French exchange student will start attending Hanasakigawa, before being properly introduced in the Hello, Charlotte! event.

Background[]

Charlotte's grandmother is Japanese and she also used to live in Japan when she was younger. She later decided to study the Japanese language and history more, hence why she can speak Japanese well.

Charlotte became friends with Kokoro when she and her family attended parties hosted at the Tsurumaki residence. During one of those parties, the two sneaked out to play together with Kokoro's insistence. Around the same time, Charlotte learnt about Kokoro's goal of wanting to make the whole world smile, Charlotte came to admire Kokoro and the two would start playing more frequently, as well as try to make people smile through various methods.

Eventually, Charlotte had to move to France due to her parents' work, and although she had sworn to Kokoro that she'd do her best to make everyone in France smile as well, she ended up becoming estranged from her peers due to them not accepting her. Her antics led to her earning the reputation of being a weirdo and she was unable to make friends as the other kids spread rumors around her. As a result, Charlotte started resenting Kokoro and her ideals.^[1]

Appearance[]

Charlotte is a short French girl with a gentle looking facial structure. She has slightly curly, golden hair that flows down her back along with a sideswept straight fringe, all adorned with a black headband. Her eyes are wider than they are tall, with irises of a muted blue color.

Her casual attire consists of a fairly monotone color scheme, primarily only consisting of whites, grays, and navy blues. It consists of a gray, long sleeve-top with frilly edging, along with a white button up adorned with a navy blue bow tie which is adorned with a dark sapphire gem. Her lower attire is simply a navy blue corset and long skirt.

Personality[]

Outwardly Charlotte is a very amicable and good-natured girl who speaks in a polite tone. However, deep down, she is a resentful person who finds Kokoro and her antics pushy and overbearing, and is particularly obsessed with wanting to ruin Kokoro's life, in revenge for "stealing her ability to smile." She especially detests the word "smile" and Kokoro's goal of wanting to make the whole world smile.^[1]
