Will I Be as Good...?

When the decision is made to take turns emceeing, Rimi has other thoughts...

CiRCLE - Onstage

Tae: Thanks for coming out to see our concert today, everyone!
Tae: This next song will be our last. But before that, allow me to tell you a little more about myself. I'm Tae Hanazono, your emcee for today!
Tae: My hobby is playing guitar, and I've been doing it for... Hey, Arisa, how many years has it been?
Arisa: Huh? Don't ask me! Umm... I think you've been playing for seven or eight years, right?
Tae: Yeah! Something like that! Now then, I'll show you all my Oddie impression.
Arisa: Wait a second! What happened to your guitar story?!
Rimi: (O-Tae-chan is amazing... The audience is laughing and having a good time...)
Rimi: ...
Two Weeks Ago

CiRCLE – Dressing Room

Kasumi: Ohhh! I'm so excited for today's performance!
Rimi: Hey, everyone, the venue is jam-packed with audience members.
Tae: Somebody asked me to shake their hand earlier! Apparently, they took the train from someplace far away to see us.
Arisa: It feels like we've been getting more first-time visitors lately... This must be thanks to our Rocking Star Festival performance, right...?
Saaya: I think so. It makes me happy to see the impact of that concert take shape before our eyes.
Arisa: Yeah. I'm glad we gave that show our all, you know?
Kasumi: I've got an idea! Why don't we mark the occasion by doing something special for the people who've come to see our band for the first time?
Tae: Yeah! If they've taken an interest in us, I wanna turn them into lifelong Poppin'Party fans!
Saaya: Ah, then how about this? We could properly introduce ourselves to the audience again.
Rimi: Yes, I think that's a good idea. It's natural to want to know what the members of a band you're into are like.
Tae: Sometimes I like a band even more after listening to the emcee.
Kasumi: Gasp! Hey, you guys, I just thought of an incredible idea!
Arisa: Here we go... Fine, I'm listening. Say it.
Kasumi: Let's rotate our emcee for each show! The band member who is hosting on that day can give their self-introduction!
Tae: Cool, that sounds like a blast!
Arisa: O-ohhh... That's a decent suggestion for a change, Kasumi...
Arisa: I suppose you've always been the one doing the talking, so if we all had a turn, even our established fan base would enjoy it.
Saaya: Uh-huh. It'll be interesting to try something we've never done before. Fufu, I'm starting to get excited.
Kasumi: In that case, I'll emcee today and do my self-introduction! Arisa can go next!
Saaya: Oh? Arisa, are you nervous by any chance?
Arisa: A-as if!
Saaya: Fufu. Then I'll go after Arisa.
Tae: Well then, I'll go after Saya! Rimi, are you okay with being last?
Rimi: Yes, that's fine.
Kasumi: Alrighty! I'm getting pumped up~!
Kasumi: Until now, I've been introducing you guys to the audience, right? Well, it was always my dream to be introduced by someone too~! "Lead singer and guitarist, Kasumi Toyama!"
Saaya: Fufu, you sure look happy, Kasumi. We'll make sure to give you a mighty fine introduction.
Kasumi: Okay then, we'll each emcee so that new fans and old fans alike will get to know us even better!
All: Yeah!
Rimi: (Emceeing a concert...? I've said a few words every now and then, but I've never been the main speaker before.)
Rimi: (I'm a little nervous... However, I'm getting used to performing on big stages so... I'm sure I can do it.
Rimi: (Yes. I'm looking forward to it just a little.)
Rimi: (... That's what I thought back then but...)
Rimi: (My bandmates are amazing emcees and their self-introductions were fascinating...)
Rimi: (It's finally my turn next week...)
Rimi: (Ohhh... will I be as good as them...?)

Kasumi: You fired everyone up with your emceeing, O-Tae~! The audience couldn't stop laughing!
Tae: Really? Thanks! I'm glad I got to introduce Oddie and the gang.
Arisa: Though, you kinda lost everyone with your rabbit impression...
Saaya: Fufu. Well, the crowd had fun and I'm sure even the newcomers got a good sense of O-Tae's personality.
Kasumi: They sure did! And people loved your Poppin'Party Q&A segment when you were emcee, Saya~!
Saaya: I never dreamed I'd be on stage explaining how to bake delicious bread... Still, if they enjoyed it, I'm happy. The audience couldn't get enough of your emceeing either, Arisa.
Kasumi: You gave a mini Poppin'Party history lesson! I felt so nostalgic hearing about all the things we went through~!
Arisa: Well, I didn't have enough time to cover everything. That being said, I think the new guests got a good overview of what we've achieved up to now.
Kasumi: At any rate, I'm impressed you remembered stuff from so long ago~. Like the time we went shark fishing at the fireworks festival!
Saaya: Uh-huh. We could really feel your love for Poppin'Party.
Arisa: Huh? It’s not like that! I just wanted the audience to know more about our band, that's all!
Kasumi: It's finally your turn next, Rimi-rin! I'm looking forward to it~!
Tae: The lucky last challenger in the Poppin'Party emcee tournament!
Arisa: Since when is it a competition...? There's no pressure, okay, Rimi?
Rimi: O-okay.
Rimi: (Oh dear... What if I'm the only one who messes up...? Ohh... I'm starting to get nervous...)
Kasumi: Okay then, we'll each emcee so that new fans and old fans alike will get to know us even better!
Rimi: (...No, I can't just freeze with fear.)
Rimi: (I need to introduce myself properly to our new audience members. Not to mention, I want our regulars to see how much I've grown...)
Rimi: (...Okay, I'll do some emcee practice before the show.)
Kasumi: Whoa, that's amazing! Hey, Rimi-rin, check out this new method of playing the guitar O-Tae came up with. If we did this at a concert, the crowd would love it!
Arisa: For the last time, that's impossible! How are you supposed to play an entire song with your elbows?!
Rimi: E-excuse me! I'm going to go home now!
Kasumi: Huh, already? Do you have other plans?
Rimi: Umm, I'm going to practic-
Rimi: Ah... If I tell everyone I want to practice because I don't feel confident, they might worry that I'm out of my depth...)
Rimi: I-I have homework to do...! So I'll see you at school tomorrow...!

Kasumi: Mmm~! Today's bento is yummy as usual~!
Rimi: Yep! You said it! It's delicious!
Others: ...
Rimi: Oh?! What's wrong?!
Arisa: I-it's nothing...
Arisa: H-hey, Kasumi, what's going on with Rimi? Her voice is booming today for some reason...
Kasumi: Y-yeah... She greeted me this morning in the hallway with a really loud "Hello!" It completely took me by surprise...
Tae: Is her voice breaking?
Saaya: No, that can't be it...
Tae: Hey, look at this. Don't you think this omelet looks like a bunny taking a nap? It's a new type of omelet.
Kasumi: Ahaha! Yeah, how cute!
Rimi: Hah! Hahahahaha!
Others: ...?!
Rimi: Hm? What's wrong, everyone?!
Arisa: R-Rimi, we want to ask you the same thing... You're laughing so weirdly all of a sudden...
Rimi: Huh? N-no, I'm always like this.
Arisa: Err… Are you sure about that...?
Kasumi: (Rimi-rin is acting kinda odd... Could she be hiding something from us...?)

Kasumi: La dee da~♪ I'm glad my supplementary English lesson finished early!
Kasumi: Ah, Rimi-rin! Do you wanna head downtow- Huh...? What are you doing on the edge of the sofa...?
Rimi: Twenty-one... Twenty-two... Twenty-three...! T-Twenty-... four...!
Kasumi: R-Rimi-rin is doing... sit-ups...!
Rimi: Phew... Ah?! K-Kasumi-chan?! I-I'm just, err...!
Kasumi: Rimi-rin, you're acting weird! Are you worried about something? Tell me!
Rimi: N-not at all... It's nothing.
Kasumi: You're lying! There must be a reason you're trying to project your voice! Look into my eyes! We don't keep secrets in Poppin'Party!
Rimi: Ngh...! Th-the truth is...

Kasumi: Emcee training?
Rimi: Yes, exactly...
Rimi: After watching everyone emcee, I started doubting whether I could be as good as you guys...
Kasumi: I see... Then why didn't you talk to us...?
Rimi: Well... If I told you I had no confidence, I thought you might worry about me...
Rimi: Besides, I made a commitment to be a good emcee, so I didn't want to say anything negative.
Kasumi: Rimi-rin...
Rimi: I did some research when I went home yesterday. I looked up how to improve my emcee skills and how to speak in a loud voice...
Kasumi: ... So... that's why you were belting out your words all day today.
Rimi: That's right...
Kasumi: Is it also why you were laughing loudly and doing sit-ups just now...?
Rimi: Yes, I read it online. Apparently, if you strengthen your abdominal muscles, it helps you shout...
Kasumi: But why go through all this effort...?
Rimi: Because I'm a member of Poppin'Party... I wanted to introduce myself properly in my own words, with conviction...
Rimi: Emceeing is part of the show, and if I do a good job, the crowd will pay more attention to our songs...
Kasumi: Rimi-rin...! I had no idea you were thinking that much into it...!
Kasumi: I understand! I'm gonna help you, Rimi-rin! Let's train together so you can give an emcee performance you can be proud of!
Rimi: R-really...? But...
Kasumi: Supporting you is my own decision, so don't worry about it! If there's anything I can do or anything I can teach you, I'll do it!
Rimi: ...Okay. Thank you, Kasumi-chan. I appreciate it!
Rimi: I was actually re-watching our old concerts last night. I wanted to learn how you emcee, Kasumi-chan.
Rimi: However... no matter how hard I tried to copy you, I couldn’t get the hang of it...
Rimi: Hey, Kasumi-chan, how do you speak so confidently in front of everyone...?
Kasumi: Umm... Good question~... Well... Hmm...
Kasumi: ... Wait. How do I do it?
Rimi: Huh? Don't you know either, Kasumi-chan?
Kasumi: U-umm... I've always just blurted out whatever I felt on stage without thinking too much about it...
Rimi: I-I see...
Kasumi: B-but you'll be fine once you get used to it! Emceeing is actually really fun when you figure it out!
Kasumi: When I first got up on stage... You know, the time when we performed Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at SPACE? Well, I was super nervous.
Kasumi: However, I got the hang of it right away! I realized that speaking on stage was no different from how I speak every day!
Rimi: Get used to it, huh...? But that kind of environment isn't really common outside of live houses...
Kasumi: Hmm, if only there was a place you could get a feel for public speaking~.
Tae: Brr, it's cold out here~. Oh? Rimi, Kasumi, what are you doing?
Others: O-Tae!
O-Tae-chan!
Tae: I get it. So that's why you were acting differently at lunchtime, Rimi...
Rimi: Y-yes...
Kasumi: Hey, O-Tae, do you know any tricks for getting good at emceeing~? When I emcee, I speak without thinking about any particular techniques...
Tae: I'm the same way, Kasumi. I simply say whatever it is I'm feeling on the stage.
Rimi: Hmm, I figured as much~... Is this what emceeing is all about...?
Tae: You could try talking in the same way you play an instrument. You're confident when you play bass on stage, Rimi.
Rimi: Playing an instrument and speaking isn't the same thing~... My mind goes blank when everyone stares at me...
Tae: I see. Now that you mention it, a lot of band members have trouble with public speaking. I saw quite a few people like that when I worked part-time at SPACE.
Tae: Ah, I know. Why don't we watch a performance by a band with a cool emcee?
Rimi: What do you mean?
Tae: Well, cool bands usually have cool emcees. You see, it's important to hype up the crowd in between songs to really get them going.
Tae: The way the emcee of this band I like pumps everyone up is awesome. Here, check out this video on their official website.
Rimi: Whoa~! You're right, she's so cool~...! The lead singer whipped the audience up into a frenzy...!
Kasumi: I see your point. She looks like a total rockstar~! Maybe I should try something like this at our next concert~!
Rimi: O-Tae-chan, can you recommend some more examples?
Tae: Sure thing! I'll send you a bunch of band websites that have concert videos later, okay?
Rimi: Thank you, O-Tae-chan. I'm going to study really hard by watching a range of performances!
Tae: Sounds good. Your dedication has motivated me, Rimi. I'm happy to lend a hand.
Kasumi: Now all we need is a place to practice emceeing~!
Tae: Practice emceeing? I know a good place.
Rimi: Wait, really? Where, where?
Tae: Well...

Others: We are~...!
Rimi: P-Poppin'Party...
Tae: You can do it, Rimi! I'm sure you can speak louder than that.
Rimi: Ohh... But I wasn't expecting to perform vocal exercises in the middle of the park... Th-there are so many people around...
Kasumi: Don't be embarrassed, Rimi-rin! Look, all these spectators are watching us! You need to enjoy it!
Tae: Exactly. At least give it a try.
Kasumi: Yeah! Remember when we played the Rocking Star Festival? You're the one who spurred us all to action by saying we should give it a try!
Rimi: We should give it a try... Yes, you're right... It all starts with the decision to try!
Tae: Okay then, here we go. She sells seashells by the seashore!
Kasumi: She sells seashells by the seashore!
Rimi: Sh-she sells seashells by the seashore...
Tae: Rimi, lift your head up. Let the audience hear your voice...!
Others: Wow! Those people are up to something!
Others: It's a theatre troupe! Look, everyone! There's a theatre troupe!
Rimi: Huh? What...?! W-what do we do, Kasumi-chan, O-Tae-chan? We're being swarmed by children...
Kasumi: Here we go! The excitement is building! Come on over, everyone! We're gonna put on a play for you!
Tae: Grandma Rimi, I'm heading out to slay the ogres. Could you mow the lawn in my absence?
Rimi: Wh-what...? We've started already...?! G-gosh... I don't know what to do...

Downtown

Kasumi: Ohhh! That was thrilling~! I was so focused on talking I didn't even realize it was this dark already~!
Rimi: Phew~, that was nerve-wracking. I wasn't expecting to do improvisational theatre...
Kasumi: It felt fresh and exciting~! Not to mention, you were really vocal near the end, Rimi-rin.
Rimi: Y-yes... I was very nervous, but I followed you and O-Tae-chan's leads, and I think I feel a little more comfortable speaking now...
Kasumi: That’s great~! Our training was a huge success!
Kasumi: Huh...? Hey, Rimi-rin, doesn't something smell super good?
Rimi: It does too. It smells like...
Rimi: Chocolate cornets! From Saya-chan's bakery!
Kasumi: Hey, seeing as we're already here, we might as well drop by. We've earned a treat!
Rimi: Okay! Sounds good to me!
Yamabuki Bakery

Saaya: Welcome...! Oh, Kasumi and Rimi-rin? You don't normally come by at this hour.
Kasumi: Yeah! Rimi-rin and I were performing a play at the park!
Saaya: R-really...?
Rimi: Yes, you see...
Saaya: Emcee training, huh? Interesting. That explains why you were laughing so loudly at school today, Rimi-rin.
Rimi: Y-yes…
Saaya: Still, I remember you speaking without any hesitation when we gave self-introductions on the first day of our second year. Can't you do the same thing again?
Rimi: Well... it's not just about me this time. I'm being observed as a member of Poppin'Party, so I want to do even better.
Saaya: I see... That's admirable, Rimi-rin.
Saaya: You're challenging yourself to improve at something you know you're not good at... I can learn a thing or two from you.
Rimi: Hey, Saya-chan, when you emceed our concert the other day, what things did you pay special attention to?
Kasumi: I wanna know too! I'm trying to help Rimi-rin, but I'm not even sure how I emcee exactly~.
Saaya: Ahaha, well, that's what we like about you, Kasumi.
Saaya: Hmm, it's a good question, though~. I guess I take care to say thank you.
Rimi: Thank you?
Saaya: Yep. All bands, not just ours, say thank you during their shows, right?
Kasumi: That's so true~! When I see the audience's faces, I just get the urge to say it~!
Saaya: Yep. All the more reason why it's important to thank them with sincerity.
Saaya: It may be a small gesture, but I think it helps people understand how grateful you are.
Rimi: I see... That's why I felt so warm inside when I was watching you emcee, Saya-chan.
Kasumi: That's amazing, Saya...! I'll be sure to do that next time!
Saaya: Oh, it's not that big of a deal, really. Now, what else...? Ah! Why don't you try taking a video recording of yourself speaking?
Saaya: Every so often when I practice drumming, I take a video of myself to check my technique. It helps me see things objectively so that I can fix any errors. It might help improve your emceeing too.
Rimi: Interesting... That sounds like a good idea...! I'll give it a try.
Saaya: Other than that... I know! As a reward for working so hard, Rimi-rin... I'll give you this!
Rimi: Wow, a chocolate cornet~♪ And it's freshly baked~.
Kasumi: Whoa, Rimi-rin, you look happy~!
Saaya: I'm looking forward to your emceeing, Rimi-rin.
Rimi: I'll do my best. Thank you, Saya-chan!

Rimi: Hello~. Brr... It's cold outside~. Oh? Arisa-chan, are you by yourself?
Arisa: Hey, Rimi. Yeah, Kasumi has a supplementary lesson, Saya is helping at the bakery, and O-Tae is at her part-time job.
Rimi: I see. Are you doing homework?
Arisa: Yep. I wanted to get it done before everyone gets here.
Rimi: In that case... I think I'll do some drills before they arrive as well.
Arisa: Huh...? Oh, right. You mentioned at lunchtime today you're doing emcee training.
Rimi: Yes, exactly. Is that okay? Would you rather I keep quiet...?
Arisa: Nah, it's fine. Knock yourself out.
Rimi: Thank you. I'll try not to get in the way of your homework.
Rimi: (I've more or less learned how to speak from a script...Now I need to practice some motivational phrases...)
Rimi: (When I hype up the audience, I feel like a real emcee... I'm going to get better at it and really get our fans roaring...!)
Rimi: Everybody! Go wild!
Arisa: Whoa!
Rimi: S-sorry, Arisa-chan. I didn't mean to yell...
Arisa: D-don't worry... I don't mind that... But what was that, anyway? Were you copying... LAYER...?
Rimi: Y-yes... Last night I was watching RAS concert videos... and LAYER-san's shouts were really cool... I thought if I said the same thing, people would like it.
Arisa: Well, looking into what other bands do is smart... However, I'm not sure that line really fits Poppin'Party's vibe...
Rimi: Y-you're right... I'll come up with something else...
Arisa: What song of ours did you want people to lose control to, anyway...? "Poppin' Shuffle"...?
Rimi: (Okay, I need to fix my shouts... Then re-record myself with my phone from the beginning and check it again...)
Rimi: ...
Rimi: (This is tough... I can finally say the script from start to finish, but it still feels stiff...)
Rimi: (How can I speak in a more relaxed way...?)
Arisa: ... Hey.
Rimi: ...?
Arisa: Do you really need to follow the script down to the letter?
Arisa: Um, what I mean is... As long as you learn the first and last lines and remember the main points, you should be able to get the message across...
Arisa: I'm lousy at speaking in front of big groups as well, so I can't explain it very well... However, I totally get how you feel, Rimi.
Rimi: Arisa-chan...
Rimi: I almost forgot you're a shy person too.
Arisa: Oh, um, I guess so...
Arisa: I've had a lot more opportunities to give speeches after becoming a member of the Student Council, so I've gotten better at it. In the early days, though, I was a bag of nerves.
Arisa: I'd write out scripts over and over and memorize them by heart. Then I'd record my voice on my phone and check it, just like you're doing, Rimi.
Rimi: I had no idea...
Arisa: Yeah. However, when the time to stand in front of people finally comes, you don't know what to say and your mind goes blank. To this day, I still get flustered sometimes.
Arisa: No matter how big a stage I get used to performing on, speaking is the one thing I can't fully master... It's a different skill from playing a song.
Rimi: I thought as much... Speaking of which, is there anything you keep in mind when giving speeches for the Student Council, Arisa-chan?
Rimi: You see, when I speak in public, my voice always ends up becoming quiet by the end...
Arisa: Ah, I get you. You start to worry about screwing up, then your voice gets smaller and smaller.
Rimi: Yes, that's it. What should I do...
Arisa: Hmm... If I have to put it in words...
Arisa: Just forget about your surroundings. In my experience, people rarely care about every little thing as much as you do.
Rimi: They don't...?
Arisa: For example, remember that time I stopped going to school? When I was at home, I was sure people in my class were gossiping about me while reading magazines and stuff, you know?
Arisa: But in the end, when I went back and talked to my classmates, nobody really cared that I wasn't there. I thought they'd make a big deal out of it, but everyone acted normal.
Arisa: It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders when I found out. It helped me realize that I don't need to overthink things.
Arisa: That's why... when you're on stage, Rimi, try not to focus too much on your surroundings. Just speak freely.
Rimi: Arisa-chan...
Arisa: Though, I still worry about what people think so I know this advice might not mean much coming from me...
Rimi: Thank you. I feel much better already.
Rimi: I'll try to emcee without worrying about everyone's opinions.
Arisa: Yeah, that's the way.
Rimi: Fufu.
Arisa: Wh-what?
Rimi: P-pardon me. I'm just happy I got to talk about this with you, Arisa-chan.
Arisa: Well... I don't usually say stuff like this in front of everyone. But I felt comfortable telling you, Rimi.
Arisa: ... Hey, I could help with your emcee practice, if you'd like.
Arisa: Speaking into a phone is fine and all, but it's even better to speak facing someone, right? We're both shy types, so there's nothing to be nervous about.
Rimi: Really? Thank you. Then I gladly accept.
Arisa: ... Hey, Rimi.
Rimi: ...?
Arisa: How should I put this...? Seeing you challenge yourself at something you struggle with... Well, it's totally cool.
Arisa: So, you see... I feel moved... and I wanna support you, Rimi...
Rimi: Arisa-chan...
Arisa: Anyway, I know you'll do a great job emceeing and knock everyone's socks off.
Rimi: Yeah!

The Next Day

Ichigaya Residence - Basement

Rimi: When I write songs, the most important thing to me is making sure every member of Poppin'Party can shine.
Rimi: My goal is to create many more songs that let you see how lovely our members are...and feel how fun our band is.
Rimi: That's the end of my self-introduction. Thank you very much for coming to Poppin'Party's show today!
Rimi: ... Phew. How was that?
Kasumi: Rimi-rin, that was amazing~!
Saaya: Yeah. You managed to say the whole thing without stumbling, and your pace was just right.
Arisa: You started with a greeting, introduced the songs, and finished by talking about yourself... I think it was very well organized.
Tae: You spoke in a loud, clear voice with great eye contact.
Rimi: Really? Thank goodness~.
Kasumi: Practicing with everyone really paid off, Rimi-rin!
Rimi: Yes!
Kasumi: Alrighty! Now that Rimi-rin's emcee skills are looking good, do you wanna celebrate a little before the big show tomorrow?
Arisa: Let's not go overboard! We should prepare for tomorrow by heading home and having an early night.
Saaya: Oh, come on. We can at least indulge in some sweets. Right, Rimi-rin?
Rimi: Sure. Ah, then before that, I'm going to review the video we just took of me emceeing.
Rimi: ...
Kasumi: Rimi-rin, what are you doing? Come over here and eat these snacks with us.
Tae: Oh? Rimi, your face is pale.
Rimi: N-no, I'm fine.
Rimi: ... Um, I know it's early, but I'm going to go home.
Saaya: Huh? Rimi-rin, are you sure you're okay?
Rimi: Yes, I'd just like to practice a phrase from our new song. Thank you for your help, everyone.
Kasumi: ...
Tae: ... What was wrong with Rimi? She seemed kinda down.
Arisa: Do you think... she still wasn't happy with her emceeing? It's the same deal with her songwriting. Rimi can be headstrong about wanting things to be perfect.
Saaya: But... I thought she seemed more relaxed than before and spoke really well...
Arisa: Hmm... I wonder what her ideal emcee even looks like...
Arisa: Hey, Kasumi, can't you give her any advice? Something only you'd know from all your emcee experience on stage...
Rimi: Okay! Sounds good to me!
Kasumi: Umm...
Tae: Hey, why don't we take her some chocolate cornets to cheer her up? Rimi usually feels better after eating her favorite food.
Saaya: Yeah... There's no guarantee it will work, though...
Kasumi: ... Rimi-rin's favorite stuff... Cheering up...
Kasumi: Ah... I've got it! When I emcee, I always-
Saaya: What is it, Kasumi?
Kasumi: I've gotta go to Rimi-rin's house!
Saaya: Huh? W-wait a second, Kasumi!
Ushigome Residence - Rimi's Room

Rimi: ...
Rimi: (Something's not right...)
Rimi: (I've watched this video countless times and it still feels like I'm missing something. It's the thing Kasumi-chan does that draws people in...)
Rimi: (Especially in my self-introduction... I'm speaking clearly... yet it feels more like a lecture than a concert...)
Rimi: (Is it my volume...? My smile...? Hmm... I can't figure it out...)
Kasumi: Rimi-rin!
Rimi: K-Kasumi-chan?
Kasumi: Rimi-rin, I've got the answer! I realized what it is I do when I emcee!
Kasumi: When I stand on stage, I only talk about the stuff I love!
Rimi: Things you love...?
Kasumi: Yeah! When I introduce our songs or when I call out to the audience... I'm overflowing with love. I simply put that feeling into words!
Kasumi: "I feel confident enough to sing my heart out because Rimi-rin is here next to me playing the bass!" Like that!
Kasumi: Or, "Everyone, turn your attention to the lovely Rimi-rin, who plays the bass with style!"
Kasumi: I want to share my sparkling, heart-pounding feeling with everyone!
Rimi: Sparkling, heart-pounding... with everyone...
Rimi: (The reason Kasumi-chan's emceeing draws people in... is that she's enjoying the moment on stage more than anyone else.)
Rimi: (I was so focused on getting it right that I forgot to have fun...)
Rimi: (The kind of voice that touches people's hearts isn't just about volume or speed, it's...)
Kasumi: It might not be the answer you're looking for, Rimi-rin. However, I really wanted you to know in case you find it the slightest bit useful...!
Rimi: I see. Thank you, Kasumi-chan. I finally know what I was lacking from my emceeing.
Kasumi: What?! Really?!
Rimi: Yep.
Rimi: (If I'm not having fun, then the people watching me can't have fun either. My self-introduction tomorrow doesn't need to be spoken eloquently, as long as I...)
Rimi: Kasumi-chan, I'm going to enjoy tomorrow's emceeing to the fullest!
Rimi: Okay! I can't wait!

CiRCLE Stage

Rimi: Everyone! Hello! We're Poppin'Party! I, Rimi Ushigome, will be your emcee today!
Rimi: (Everything is okay. I can do this...! After all, my bandmates supported me...!)
Kasumi: (Rimi-rin... You've got this...!)
Rimi: This is our first song, "Dreamers Go!"
Rimi: Huff... puff... That was our fourth song, "Mirai Train"! Thank you for listening!
Saaya: (Looking good, Rimi-rin. You haven't stumbled once so far...!)
Tae: (Your voice is clear and your head is held high.)
Arisa: (All that's left is your self-introduction...)
Rimi: This next song will be our last... Before we get to that, please let me tell you a little about myself.
Kasumi: (Rimi-rin...! Do your best...!)
Rimi: ...
Rimi: My name is Rimi Ushigome. I play the bass guitar.
Rimi: My favorite foods are meat, chocolate, and... I especially love Saya-chan's chocolate cornets.
Saaya: Fufu. Thanks, Rimi-rin.
Rimi: The truth is, I practiced a lot so I could stand on stage and speak like this.
Rimi: I get embarrassed really easily and I'm not good at talking in front of lots of people...
Rimi: Despite this, I think my confidence has grown since joining this band.
Rimi: I'm sure it's thanks to all the different experiences I've had alongside my band members.
Saaya: (Oh...? Rimi-rin's acting differently from her practice yesterday...)
Rimi: We performed at the festival downtown, we sang karaoke, we took photo booth pictures...
Rimi: We've done all sorts of things.
Tae: Ah. We also swore off sweets for a while.
Arisa: Man, that was rough...
Rimi: Big things, little things... One by one, these events broadened my horizons.
Rimi: They showed me the world is far more fun, kind, and warm than I could have ever imagined...
Rimi: Yes, there are times things didn't go our way... But in turn, I found out more about myself and became even closer with everyone...
Rimi: I learned there's always a rainbow after the rain.
Rimi: Kasumi-chan, Arisa-chan, Saya-chan, and O-Tae-chan. I'm so happy I met these Poppin'Party girls!
Rimi: I love them...
Rimi: I love Poppin'Party!
Kasumi: Rimi-rin...!
Rimi: Until now and forevermore!
Rimi: I'd be overjoyed if everyone who came here today fell in love with Poppin'Party too.
Rimi: I'm going to give every performance my all to make sure that happens. So please come see us again!
Rimi: That's the end of my self-introduction. Thank you very much for listening...!
Rimi: Huff... puff...
Kasumi: Rimi-rin...!
Rimi: Kasumi-chan...!
Rimi: I was awkward and my voice was trembling... I knew I wouldn't do a good job.
Kasumi: Not at all. Your emceeing was passionate, awesome, and true to yourself, Rimi-rin.
Rimi: ... Thank you, Kasumi-chan.
Rimi: Now then, I'd like to introduce our members!
Rimi: Lead guitarist, Tae Hanazono-chan!
Rimi: Drummer, Saya Yamabuki-chan!
Rimi: Keyboardist, Arisa Ichigaya-chan!
Rimi: And... lead singer and guitarist, Kasumi Toyama-chan!
Rimi: We are~...!
Others: Poppin'Party!
Rimi: It's now time for our final song! It's a new one!)
Rimi: ...
Rimi: Everyone, raise your voice, and let's go!
