Katou Emiri (加藤 英美里) was born on November 26, 1983 in Fussa, Tokyo. She is the voice actress of Uehara Himari in BanG Dream! She is currently affiliated with Stardust Promotion, while her singing activities are signed under Pony Canyon.

Background[]

In her third year of high school, her good friend and fellow voice actress Kano Yui invited her to a school tour at the Amusement Media School, which the two then decided to attend. Emiri then debuted as a voice actress in 2004 with the role of Doria in the anime Kyou Kara Maou!. Originally Emiri wanted to work at a game company, but decided to become a seiyuu in the end.

On January 31, 2022, Emiri announced that she has left her former agency 81 Produce in order to become a freelancer.[1] On April 1, 2022, it was announced that she has now joined Stardust Promotion.[2]

Emiri won the award for the "Best New Actress" at the 2nd Seiyuu Awards in 2008 for her role as Momoko Akatsutsumi in Powerpuff Girls Z. She also won the award for the "Best Supporting Actress" at the 6th Seiyuu Awards in 2012.

She debuted as a singer on December 17, 2008 with her first album "vivd". Emiri also used to be part of the music duo Kato*Fuku (かと*ふく) together with Fukuhara Kaori. The duo released three singles and three albums from 2012 to 2015, before disbanding in 2016.

Personality & Hobbies[]

Emiri's hobbies include photographing, gaming, drawing and visiting interior furnishings shops. Her favorite games are Final Fantasy XI[3], the Dragon Quest series and Granblue Fantasy. Although Emiri wasn't that interested in voice actors, according to her cast comment in ARIA The NATURAL Drama CD I, her childhood dream was to become an anime character.

She has near-sightedness and a result, often wears glasses at work.
