Mori Minami (森 みなみ) is a character in the BanG Dream! franchise. She is Wakaba Mutsumi's mother.
Appearance[]
Mutsumi bares a striking resemblance to her mother, sharing the same shade of light-green hair and gold eyes. Minami's hair goes past her shoulders and is shown with side-swept bangs.
Background[]
Not much is known about Minami's actual background, it's known that she's a famous actress who's starred in a number of films and shows, and is in a relationship with Wakaba Takafumi, - more known by his stage name Wakaba - whom Minami always refers to with the nickname "Ta-kun".
Personality[]
Minami presents herself as an outgoing woman who's generally friendly to anyone she comes across. She's shown to like presenting her acting works to others, such as her watching a film she starred in with the members of Ave Mujica in Exitus acta probat.
It is shown that Minami and Mutsumi do not have a traditional mother-daughter-like relationship, as it's shown that Mutsumi calls Minami by her first name, rather than a parental term.[1]
Deep down, Minami is jealous of Mutsumi's acting abilities as she not only regards Mutsumi to be a born actress, but she also seemingly sees a lot of Mutsumi's childhood behaviors and actual struggles as part of her act. In fact, she sees her own daughter as competition, believes her daughter's whole life is an act, and is even shown to call Mutsumi a monster, outright saying that being around her all the time has made her feel miserable. Minami is also talented at reading people, revealing that she instantly knew that Nyamu came over to the Wakaba residence solely for wanting to use Minami's connections, and how she also knew that Nyamu turned down the audition because she was afraid of failing.[2]
Etymology[]
Mori (森) means "forest."
Minami (みなみ) has no specific meaning due to being written in hiragana.
Trivia[]
