Tired-out from swimming, but still in such high spirits
As we both lay awake, you murmured
"Hey, in that case, let's go see what we can find outside!"
And so we quickly slipped out of that room
On that night that will never end
We headed for the seashore
"Shall we swim in that sea of stars?"
You asked, laughing, and I wondered why
We nestled close together
It was three in the morning; and then a faint sound
The clink of a ramune bottle echoed
Our memories, we locked them all away safely
The glimmer of the moon above us, we glimpsed it through the marble
So as to not forget our feelings, we wrote them down in the sand of the beach
But the waves washed away our words
So we searched for a marker
We gently sealed out bottle with a prayer
And buried it in the sand
I wonder when I began to become more honest
As summer started to gently close in
"Hey, didn't you notice?"
Every single star is watching over you
The moonlight, the sound of the waves, I scooped them all up with both my hands
I grasped them tightly in my palms, so those memories might never spill out
From the shell that I put my ear to
I heard what sounded like a voice from my past
The footsteps I heard weren't just my imagination
When I turned around, everyone was already there
It's silly, but we gathered up the sounds of the night
And stored them carefully in our hearts
Hey, this summer time capsule
Will keep on sleeping here
Eternally
That wish on that starry night
We will always remember it
So as to not forget our feelings, we wrote them down in the sand of the beach
But the waves washed away our words
With our marker placed, someday we'll come to retrieve them again
And our password will be...
"I love you"
