Osaka – City

Kasumi: Look! That tower's huge~!
Arisa: K-Kasumi, quiet down! People are giving us looks~...!
Saaya: Fufu, the real thing sure is big, huh~? I'll send Jun and Sana some pictures later.
Tae: Hey, I smell some amazing sauce coming from over that way...! "The Original Deep-Fried Skewers." It's the place that invented skewers.
Kasumi: That okonomiyaki place has "the original" on their sign too! Ohh, and so does the doteyaki stew place over there!
Tae: All kinds of great food was born in this city... We're in a truly amazing place right now. I'm so awed.
Rimi: Um... actually, no.
Kasumi & Tae: Huh?
Rimi: A lot of places like to add "the original" to their name, but it's probably not true for most of them.
Kasumi: O-oh...!
Rimi: I kind of understand why they do it though. When I see "the original," it just makes me think their food will be super good.
Saaya: Let me guess, Rimi-rin. You're the type who's a sucker for "home of the" and "birthplace," too, aren't you?
Rimi: Huh? How did you know?
Saaya: Ahaha, it was kind of obvious~.
Arisa: Hey~, how long do you guys plan to keep talking about food? We gotta go say hi at the live house, remember?
Kasumi: Oh, right!
Saaya: This is so exciting, huh~? The last time we met everyone from there was during the Rocking Star Festival.
Arisa: You just blurted out that we'd do a show in Kansai, and here we are about to do just that. I still can't believe it~.
Rimi: We have to thank them. They're the ones who invited us to be in a music festival here in Osaka, after all.
Kasumi: I'm so happy they remembered what I said back then~!
Saaya: They did help us when we streamed our show, so let's make sure we give them a good performance!
Tae: Yeah! I get the feeling this'll make for a great summer memory!
Arisa: It's the first time we've traveled all the out here for a concert, so we need to focus more than usual and...
Tae: Hey, look! There's a shooting gallery over there!
Kasumi: Wow, you're right! There's even one of those retro video arcades this way!
Arisa: Hey, hold up!
Rimi: This shopping district has a lot of stores that haven't changed at all in forever. I find the nostalgic feel of the buildings and signs so fascinating.
Saaya: This may be the kind of street from way before we were born, but I think
Kasumi: Hey, hey, that arcade over there has some special photo booth options you can only find in Osaka!
Tae: Nice! Let's write "Hi, Osaka!"
Arisa: The photo booth can wait until after our concert, alright?
Arisa: By the way, Rimi, how do we get to the live house from here?
Rimi: Uh, we just take the subway, and in about fifteen minutes...
Rimi: Oh, it's from my grandmother... Give me a moment, please. Hey. Mm-hmm, we're already here. We're at a shoppin' district right now...
Kasumi: I can't wait to see what her grandma's place is like~!
Arisa: Yeah. Just don't forget that we're staying over as guests, so behave, alright? Oops. Do you think we should've brought gifts of some kind?
Tae: I've got you covered, Arisa. I made sure to bring some Tokyo souvenirs.
Arisa: Seriously? You're a lifesaver, O-Tae...! So, what did you buy?
Tae: A rabbit phone strap and rabbit manju. They look so cute, don't they?
Arisa: And what exactly is the Tokyo connection here?!
Rimi: Huh? Naw, you don't have to get the takoyaki ready~. We won't be arrivin' till late afternoon.
Kasumi: Wow! Rimi-rin's using Kansai speak!
Rimi: Mm-hmm, yeah... Alrighty, see ya later then.
Rimi: ... Phew, Grandma can be so darn impatient...
Kasumi & Saya & Arisa & Tae: Fufufu...
Rimi: ...? Why are all of you giving me that look? Is there something on my face...?
Arisa: Oh~, we just noticed how much Kansai speak you were using.
Rimi: Huh, really? Ngh, I feel so embarrassed~...
Kasumi: Don't be! It was really cute!
Tae: Yeah, especially the "alrighty, see ya." I'm gonna use it too. Alrighty, see ya, Arisa!
Arisa: O-O-Tae where do you think you're going?! Stay put!
Saaya: Maybe talking to your grandma put you in Kansai mode.
Rimi: N-naw, this is just, um...
Tae: Ah, you're doing it again.
Rimi: Oh, you're right. Ugh~. It keeps slipping out...
Kasumi: Aww~, you're so cute~, Rimi-rin!
Saaya: Hm...? Hey, Arisa. I'm checking my phone's map right now, but I'm not seeing the entrance to the station. Is this the place?
Arisa: Let me take a look... Whoa, it's like some kind of maze... I think this is the place though...
Rimi: Oh... If we walk underground from over here, we can get to the station faster. It looks like the long route on the map, but it's actually quicker because it's less crowded.
Kasumi: Whoa~! You really know your way around here~!
Arisa: Thank god too~! Do you think you could guide us?
Rimi: Sure, I can do that. Um~, the crosswalk should be this way, I reckon...
Saaya: Fufufu, Rimi-rin's at it again.
Kasumi: I guess it just slips out unconsciously~. Fufufu.

Osaka – City

Kasumi: Look! Over there! It's a moving crab sign!
Tae: Wow, it's like a giant crab monster...! Oh, there's even a Ferris wheel that way! Am I in some kind of giant theme park...?
Arisa: There those two go again getting all distracted over something... I have no idea how they can stay so energetic when all we're doing is walking around.
Saaya: Well, I can't say I blame them. It's hard not to be excited with all these colorful zappy signs around us.
Rimi: This is one of Osaka's busiest areas. A lot of tourists visit, too. That's apparently why the signs are made to grab your attention.
Kasumi: Just looking at them makes me feel so energetic~!
Arisa: Too energetic, if you ask me. Keep it up, and you'll run out of gas before tomorrow's concert, you know?
Kasumi: Don't worry, I'd never run out of energy for a concert!
Arisa: Sure... Seriously, though, make sure you leave enough juice for tomorrow, okay?
Street Vendor: You girls sure are a cheerful bunch~! Care to try our soft serve? I'll even throw in a discount now~!
Kasumi: Whoa~! I'll take one~!
Arisa: H-hey, Kasumi...! Whenever someone tries to sell us something, she just rushes over to check them out...
Saaya: Just walking seems to attract the attention of the vendors here. At this rate, Kasumi might end up buying all the food being sold along this street.
Tae: All of these taste so amazing!
Arisa: Skewers, pork bun, baby castella cakes... I see you've been buying everything, too, O-Tae...
Saaya: Ahaha. I like how vibrant it is here though. It's such a different feel from downtown Hanasakigawa... Maybe I'll try hawking in front of the bakery like the people here.
Tae: Let me try then! Come check us out! We've got sweet deals you won't wanna miss~! Hey there, Moca! Wanna take a look? You know you want to!
Saaya: Actually, Moca's probably not the best choice since she'll come anyway...
Live House Staff: Hey~, guys! Over here~!
Kasumi: Oh! Hi~! Long time no see!
Live House Staff: Too long~! Last time was the Rocking Star Festival, right? Thanks for coming all the way here!
Kasumi: And thanks for inviting us to the event! We're really excited to perform for the first time in Kansai!
Tae: Is the event taking place around here?
Live House Staff: Uh-huh! I've got some equipment to drop off, so let me take you there!
Nakanoshima Park

Kasumi: Wow~! It's so huge~!
Arisa: Damn~, I can't believe there's a park this big right in the middle of downtown...
Tae: Look at all the stages. Makes sense since there'll be a lot of bands performing.
Live House Staff: Yup. All of them wanted to help out with our plan to invigorate the Osaka girls band scene. We managed to get lots of Osaka bands who love Osaka to join.
Live House Staff: It's also my first project as the live house manager, so I'm determined to make it succeed. By the way, a lot of people are looking forward to seeing you girls perform.
Kasumi: Really?! That's so awesome~!
Saaya: We actually have people all the way here who want to see us. It's pretty amazing if you think about it.
Kasumi: Don't worry about tomorrow! We'll do our best to make sure everyone has a great time!
Live House Staff: I'll be counting on you girls! Can't wait to see what kind of show you've got planned!
Saaya: ... Hey, before our show, maybe it's a good idea to get to know the city better, don't you think?
Kasumi: I was just thinking that too! I want to be able to get up on stage with the same feelings as the other bands!
Tae: Why don't we go look for lunch and take a look around while we're at it?
Arisa: Hey, Rimi. Happen to know any good places around...
Rimi: ...
Arisa: Hm? You alright, Rimi?
Rimi: Oh, it's nothing. This park just brought back a lot of memories, so...
Rimi: Um, lunch, right?
Kasumi: Yeah! We want to hear your recommendations~!
Rimi: Uh, there are supposed to be some popular okonomiyaki places around here.
Rimi: The one at the corner there makes them really fluffy, and I heard people like the sauce they use...
Rimi: The one across the bridge offers a lot of ingredients to choose from. The portions are apparently really big too.
Arisa & Saya & Kasumi & Tae: ...?
Rimi: Hm...? What's wrong?
Kasumi: Rimi-rin, is it just me, or have you never actually been to the places around here?
Arisa: Yeah, that was a lot of supposedly's, and apparently's, and I heard's.
Rimi: Oh... You noticed? I never really came here all that much, to be honest.
Rimi: As I'm sure you've seen, this is an especially busy area where energetic vendors will try to talk to you when you pass by their stores.
Rimi: It always made me uncomfortable, so I avoided this place as much as possible when I lived here~.
Tae: You didn't like having people try to talk to you?
Rimi: It was more like I never knew how to respond when they would say so much at once.
Rimi: Thinking about how they had to be wondering why I was so nervous was embarrassing, and the idea that they probably thought I was weird made me blush.
Rimi: Ngh, even just thinking about it makes me feel so embarrassed.
Saaya: Now that you mention it, you were a lot shyer back when we first met, huh?
Arisa: I totally understand. I don't like it when people at stores approach me either...
Rimi: Don't worry though. I made sure to thoroughly review a travel guide, so I know a lot of the good stores in the area.
Saaya: You did all of that research for us, huh, Rimi-rin?
Rimi: Osaka is where I used to live, and since we were coming all the way here, I wanted to make sure all of you would have a good time.
Kasumi: That's so sweet of you, Rimi-rin!
Kasumi: You know what though? As curious as I am about the places that show up in a travel guide~... I think I'd rather go to the places you used to enjoy.
Rimi: Hm?
Tae: Me too. I want to get to know the things you liked when you were here.
Rimi: R-really...? Okay, I guess I can take you to a place I used to go to a lot. I hope it's still in the same spot though...
Kasumi: ...? Same spot?

Park

Kasumi: Mmm~! This okonomiyaki is just amazing~, and it's really fluffy too~!
Arisa: The sauce is so rich and has such an appetizing smell as well~...
Kasumi: I know, right? Whenever I put a piece in my mouth, it takes me straight to heaven!
Saaya: The batter they use is nice, and it's also grilled just right, don't you think? I've never had okonomiyaki this moist.
Rimi: Fufu, I'm so glad all of you seem to like it.
Saaya: I have to say, I never expected you to recommend a food truck though.
Rimi: The last time I came was a few years ago, so I'm glad they're still doing business in the same spot.
Tae: The display case and the stuffed animals on the counter made it a really cute truck for an okonomiyaki place, don't you think?
Saaya: It was also kind of weird that they were offering so many desserts, such as chocolate parfaits and strawberry smoothies.
Rimi: The big focus on desserts is apparently because the owner has a sweet tooth.
Rimi: I always thought they had better chocolate parfaits than actual dessert food trucks, so I used to swing by and eat them a lot back in middle school.
Kasumi: Fufufu, I guess you've always loved your chocolate~, Rimi-rin.
Rimi: Eventually, the people who worked there memorized my face though...
Rimi: After one of them remarked that I was always getting their chocolate parfaits, it became hard to buy them for a while.
Arisa: I so know what you mean... Having people memorize your face makes things really awkward~.
Tae: Did you come to this park often when you were in middle school?
Rimi: Mm-hmm. Sometimes, it was to have something sweet after school... Other times, it was to read a book I had borrowed from the library.
Rimi: This park was perfect because I would pass close to it on the way home after school.
Saaya: Now that you mention it, there do seem to be quite a few kids who look like they're in middle school. Maybe they're going to the school you went to, Rimi-rin.
Arisa: An awful lot of them seem to be carrying instruments on their backs too.
Rimi: That might be because there's a music store nearby. See the building with the blue roof over there? That's where it is.
Kasumi: Did you go there a lot, too, Rimi-rin?
Rimi: Yes. Probably right around when I started playing the bass. I'd go there with my sister to buy new strings.
Rimi: Everything was so new to me back then... so it was really intimidating each time.
Saaya: When you've only just picked up an instrument, just entering a music shop can be stressful.
Arisa: It's funny how that works though~. Before you know it, you can go inside like it's nothing.
Kasumi: In my case, it was exciting right from the start!
Tae: Me too! I always felt like I was going to a theme park.
Arisa: Well, for you guys, sure...
Saaya: It's a good thing you had Yuri-senpai back then, huh? Having her along probably made the first time far less stressful.
Rimi: It did, but... there was one time when I had to go alone.
Rimi: That didn't go too well...
Kasumi: What happened?
Rimi: I was so scared to enter on my own that I just stood around in front of the door being indecisive...
Rimi: And the staff apparently thought I was a lost child...
Saaya: Really...?
Rimi: They were so worried that they even called the police, and it kind of became a big deal.
Rimi: I was already a middle schooler by then, so that was embarrassing, to put it mildly...
Arisa: I-I see why you said it didn't go too well...
Saaya: It sounds like they were nice people though. They actually cared enough about you to do that.
Rimi: Yes. Back when I lived here, having people suddenly speak to me was sometimes scary...
Rimi: But looking back, there were also lots of times when it was helpful or put me at ease.
Rimi: I can think of so many examples of people being kind now.
Saaya: I see...
Arisa: You know, Kasumi's kinda like the people here.
Saaya: Ah, I think I know what you mean. She's also friendly and approachable.
Rimi: Fufu... Her being the way she is is probably what made it possible for me to become a part of Poppin'Party.
Rimi: I have to say, the five of us sitting together on the same bench that I used to sit on by myself is... well, it's kind of really nice.
Kasumi: Rimi-rin...!
Kasumi: I'm also super happy that we all get to be here with you in the city where you used to live~!
Rimi: K-Kasumi-chan, if you keep holding me like that, the okonomiyaki's going to end up on the ground. Fufufu.
Arisa: Yeah, this kinda thing is nice, alright. Staying over at a friend's grandma's place is going to be a first for me too...
Tae: One more memory of summer break to add to our collection.
Saaya: Hey, since we still have time until it's late afternoon, why don't we go take another look around?
Kasumi: Yeah~! Alright, Rimi-rin, be our guide, will you?
Rimi: Okay, sure!

Where My Journey Began

Rimi's Grandmother’s House

Kasumi: Rimi's grandma's house! Here we are at last~!
Rimi: Grandma~, I'm back~.
Kasumi: Hey, hey, what do you think Rimi's grandma is like?
Saaya: This is Rimi-rin's grandmother we're talking about, so... Hmm, I'd say gentle and kindly.
Tae: I bet she likes chocolate cornets too.
Arisa: Listen up, guys, don't cause trouble by going too crazy, okay?
Rimi’s Grandmother: Well, look at that~! You've grown so darn big, Rimi-chan! Best make sure you don't bump your head on the ceilin'~! Ahaha!
Rimi: I'm not that tall~, Grandma~. Hey, mind if I ask what the huge case at the entrance is?
Rimi’s Grandmother: Huh, this? This here's my saxophone!
Kasumi & Arisa & Saya & Tae & Rimi: Saxophone?!
Rimi’s Grandmother: There were some jazz folks at the entertainment hall the other day, and it was really somethin'. That's why I got my own! We need to do a session with Yuri-chan sometime!
Saaya: R-Rimi-rin's grandmother sure is spry, huh...?
Arisa: Yeah... Definitely not what I expected...
Rimi: She's always been the real active type.
Rimi’s Grandmother: Oh, allow me to welcome you girls too~! I've heard about you all from Rimi-chan. Come on in. Hope you're all ready to pig out 'cause the takoyaki's ready!
Kasumi: Yay~! We're having a takoyaki party~!
Tae: Takoyaki, takoyaki~♪
Rimi: Just so you know, my grandma makes the world's meanest takoyaki.
Saaya: Ooh~, can't wait. In we go then~.
Rimi's Grandmother's House - Living Room

Kasumi: Phew~, I'm stuffed~!
Tae: Phew~, I don't think I can have another bite... Absolutely no regrets though~.
Arisa: Sigh... Feels like it's been non-stop eating since coming to Osaka.
Saaya: A little pigging out during a trip never hurt anyone. Gotta make the most of it, you know?
Tae: Rimi, you were an amazing takoyaki flipper.
Rimi: Huh, really?
Kasumi: Yeah! You just kept going from one takoyaki to the next super fast~!
Rimi: O-oh...? Might be all the practicin' I've gotten at my grandma's over the years...
Arisa: Rimi's been going full-blown Kansai dialect ever since she stepped foot in here, huh?
Saaya: Fufu. I'm guessing it's because she's completely at ease here.
Tae: Ohh, small Rimi!
Kasumi: What?
Tae: Look, the picture on top of the drawer.
Kasumi: Wow, you're right! Rimi-rin's carrying a randoseru backpack~! She's so cute~!
Arisa: I wonder if the person next to her is Yuri-senpai.
Saaya: And this picture is... Oh wow, Rimi-rin's wearing a sailor schoolgirl uniform! Looks like a school entrance ceremony~. I never knew your bangs used to be longer.
Rimi: Th-this is so embarrassing~...
Tae: Hey, this photo's really cool. Yuri-san's playing an acoustic guitar.
Arisa: Whoa. Hm...? Wait a sec... This place looks familiar...
Rimi: Yes, it's the park where the music festival will be taking place.
Rimi: I never found a good time to bring it up... but my sister also performed her first concert ever there.
Rimi: It was during a summer festival. She sang and played her guitar on this tiny stage...
Rimi: But she wasn't used to concerts at all... so she ended up dropping her pick and getting some chords wrong.
Rimi: None of that stopped her from singing with such confidence and joy though... To me, she looked incredible up there.
Rimi: I think that might have been the moment that made me want to pick up an instrument as well.
Kasumi: Huh~! I guess that park is your sparkling, heart-pounding place then!
Rimi: Fufu, maybe. Oh, but...
Rimi: Back then, I didn't want to get up on stage like her at all...
Rimi: Imagining myself being the center of attention up there was enough to make my mind go blank and scream that there was no way I was doing it.
Kasumi: Oh yeah... before getting the band together, you did say getting up on stage was scary for you.
Saaya: But just look at you now. Tomorrow, you're going to be performing at the very same place as Yuri-senpai.
Tae: It'll be your triumphant homecoming show!
Kasumi: Alright! Let's make tomorrow's show a good one no matter what, Rimi-rin!
Rimi: Yes...!
Rimi’s Grandmother: Well, well, talkin' about what to do tomorrow, are we? Sounds fun~! Care for some extra company? I'll have you know I'm a pretty mean sax player!
Rimi: Grandma~, you promised you'd just watch tomorrow.
Rimi’s Grandmother: Ahaha! Just messin' with ya~! Gotta say though... you sure have learned how to smile real nice.
Rimi’s Grandmother: Must be all them friends you've made up in Tokyo. Brings a tear to my eye.
Rimi: Grandma...
Rimi’s Grandmother: Anyway, let me lay out your mattresses! You're gonna need the rest to put on a good show tomorrow~!
Saaya: Oh, we'll help! Kasumi, could you bring over the blankets?
Kasumi: Okay~!
Arisa: Let's move the table then.
Rimi: Alright!
Tae: I'll move our stuff over to the corner.
Tae: Ah... Rimi's bag is open.
Tae: ...?
Tae: High School Study Abroad?

A Walk at Night

Rimi and Tae are walking to a convenience store. Tae starts to speak...

Street

Rimi: Phew, the night breeze feels nice, doesn't it~?
Tae: Thanks for coming with me to the convenience store. I can't believe I forgot my toothbrush.
Rimi: No problem. It's been a while, so I wanted to take a walk along this path anyway.
Rimi: Fufu, this brings back so many memories. There was this one time here when my sister...
Tae: ...
Rimi: ...? O-Tae-chan?
Tae: Rimi. Are you going to study abroad?
Rimi: What?
Tae: I saw the flyer.
Rimi: Flyer...? Oh.
The Night Before

Rimi: Sigh... I keep finding myself staring at this study abroad flyer...
Rimi: I should get back to studying... Let's see... Question five of the English worksheet...
Rimi: Oh no, it's already this late?! I need to start packing for tomorrow...! Um, travel guide, bullet train ticket, um...!
Rimi: (It must've slipped inside with the travel guide...!)
Tae: Sorry, didn't mean to look. I guess you're going abroad then, huh?
Rimi: What?! Um... not really.
Rimi: Remember how I went to see my sister during spring break?
Rimi: She seemed to be having such a good time that I just kind of found myself wondering what it would be like to study at an overseas school.
Rimi: That's why I was looking at the flyer, not because I want to study abroad or anything...
Tae: So you're not going?
Rimi: It does look fun, but it's not as if there's anything I really want to go over there and do.
Rimi: So I don't have any plans to go, okay?
Tae: Huh, alright.
Rimi: There you have it...
Tae: You know, I won't pretend to understand...
Rimi: ...?
Tae: But the idea of you studying abroad didn't feel strange to me at all.
Rimi: What?
Tae: Yup, without a doubt.
Rimi: ...
Tae: Oh, I see the convenience store now.
Rimi: R-right... Let's hurry. We might catch something if we let ourselves get too cold after our bath.
Early Morning

Rimi's Grandmother’s House

Rimi: ... Yawn... Good morning, everyone.
Arisa: ... Snore... Snore...
Kasumi: Mumble, mumble... I can't eat anymore...
Rimi: Everyone's still asleep... Well, we did end up staying up pretty late last night.
Rimi: ... I think I'll go wash my face...
Saaya: But the idea of you studying abroad didn't feel strange to me at all.
Rimi: I wonder why O-Tae-chan said that...
Rimi: I'm not the type to go study abroad. Besides, even if I somehow did end up planning to go, I'd just get cold feet anyway...
Rimi: So I don't have any plans to go, okay?
Rimi: ... I really meant it.
Rimi: But something... just doesn't feel right...
Rimi: Even though they're my own words, they feel like someone else's... like a lump that refuses to go away...
Rimi: Why am I feeling like this...?

Who I Used to Be, Who I Am Now

The Next Day

Nakanoshima Park

Kasumi: Hey, look. The first band's already rehearsing!
Arisa: Whoa, those are some flashy outfits... They're fired up, alright~.
Tae: I bet it feels so good to play the guitar under the blue sky...!
Saaya: Interesting~. That band has three guitarists. Hey, Rimi-rin! Let's all go take a closer look.
Rimi: O-okay...!
Rimi: (... I still can't shake off this feeling... Our concert is coming up though... I need to stop dwelling on it...)
Arisa: Huh, I only expected people who were here for the music festival, but it looks like there are regular parkgoers as well.
Saaya: Probably because only part of the park seems to have been reserved for the event. There are also stages that are open to the public.
Tae: Quite a few people are checking out the rehearsals.
Tae: Hey, that person over there. They're the one that sold us soft serve yesterday. Wow, they sure seem to be having fun dancing to the song!
Saaya: Over there too. There are some little kids staring at the stage. I wonder if they're interested in the performance. Just look at the way their eyes are sparkling.
Arisa: You know, it feels kind of crazy to see music getting to be a part of the cityscape like this.
Kasumi: ... Yeah, it's incredible. Really incredible.
Kasumi: It's like it's spreading!
Rimi: Spreading...?
Kasumi: The power of music. Instead of going inward, it's like it's spreading outward more and more...!
Kasumi: I feel like music is something that can connect even more people and become an even bigger circle than I'd imagined...! Mmm~, I'm getting so excited now!
???: ... Hm? Hey, are you guys Poppin'Party?
Kasumi: ...? Oh, wait. You're one of the bands that's performing today...
Band A: Wow, you actually recognize us! That's so cool! There's somethin' we've wanted to say to you all if we ever managed to meet.
Rimi: Say to us?
Band A: That Rocking Star Festival stream was a real killer!
Band A: It gave us shivers to know that there were high schoolers in Tokyo who had spirit like us! Anyway, I'm sure we ran into each other for a reason, so good luck to us both!
Kasumi: Wow, thanks! Yeah, let's put on a good show!
Band B: Ah, Poppin'Party! You mind givin' us some time?
Band C: We got to see your stream in one of the live houses around here~! Seein' high schoolers like us doin' what you guys did was real encouragin'~!
Saaya: Looks like even more bands are starting to gather around us, huh?
Arisa: Y-yeah...
Band B: You're Arisa-chan, the keyboardist, right? I like your sound a whole lot~! Hey, you think we can exchange contact info or somethin'?
Arisa: Y-you what? Sure... I don't mind...
Band B: Great! Hope you enjoy performin' in Osaka! People here love havin' a good time, so you've got nothin' to worry about, alright?
Band C: Oh yeah! Seein' that stream of yours is what got us streamin' our shows! Here's a link. Come check us out! Anyway, we gotta go rehearse! Later!
Kasumi: Okay! We'll take a look for sure! See you later in the dressing room!
Saaya: Fufu, how nice~, Arisa. They said they like your sound.
Arisa: N-not another word, alright...?
Arisa: But well... I guess getting that kind of praise wasn't too bad...
Kasumi: ...
Kasumi: ... It's kinda nice, huh?
Arisa: ...?
Kasumi: I'm just thinking about how glad I am that we streamed that show back then~.
Kasumi: If we hadn't, we might never have gotten to know the bands from around here that we just met.
Kasumi: It makes me so glad that we streamed~. Just look at me. I'm kind of starting to get all emotional.
Tae: The show we streamed back then is what made this moment possible.
Arisa: Making that show happen definitely wasn't easy though.
Rimi: We all had to work really hard.
Tae: I still remember when you said "I kinda want to do this," Saya.
Saaya: Ahaha... Did I really sound that fired up?
Saaya: What I remember the most is Rimi's "Why don't we just try?"
Rimi: I-I only ever said that because it came to me while I was talking to my sister that the only way to find out was to try...
Rimi: ...
Rimi: (... "Just try," huh?)
Rimi: (The old me who could only ever look up and watch as my sister performed on stage probably never would've been able to say that...)
Rimi: (Maybe I've become a tiny bit stronger because I met my bandmates...)
Kasumi: ... Oh, I know! You guys wanna try emceeing?
Saaya: Th-that came out of nowhere...
Arisa: The idea of emceeing in unfamiliar territory without any prep work kinda freaks me out, to be honest...
Kasumi: We're only here now because of that show we streamed and all the people we got to connect with...
Kasumi: So I just thought it'd be nice if we could tell them more about ourselves.
Saaya: And I get that... I'm just not sure we can pull it off.
Rimi: ... I want to give it a shot too.
Saya & Arisa: Huh?
Rimi: Joining Poppin'Party has given me so much. It's let me connect with all kinds of people... and meeting them has let me change in so many ways.
Rimi: That's why I understand why Kasumi-chan feels this is important.
Saaya: Rimi-rin...
Saaya: ... Alright, I'm in.
Saaya: Gotta pay attention to the answer that lies up ahead when you're unsure and thinking "but." Right, Rimi-rin?
Rimi: ... Ah.
Rimi: Saya-chan, I think that "but" is something you should pay more attention to.
Rimi: It's probably where your true answer lies...
Rimi: (Saya-chan remembers what I said to her back then...)
Arisa: Well, in that case... guess I'm in too!
Tae: Yeah. If you write off things as impossible before you even start, you'll never be able to start anything.
Live House Staff: Poppin'Party~! You girls mind getting ready for rehearsals~?
Kasumi: Sure thing~! Let's go, guys!
Rimi: ...
Rimi: (...The true answer lies beyond the "but...")
Rimi: (Then the reason why I have this feeling that I can't shake off is because of how I actually feel about studying abroad ...)
Rimi: (Why am I so drawn to the idea though...?)

Clear as the Summer Sky

The cloud hanging over Rimi's heart starts to lift. She speaks from the stage.

Kasumi: Thanks for listening! That was "Mirai Train."
Kasumi: Before we begin our final song though... Rimi-rin, take it away!
Rimi: Hello, everybody. I'm Rimi Ushigome, Poppin'Party's bassist.
Rimi: Um, I actually used to live in this city... so I'm really glad I get to perform here today...!
Rimi: Back when I lived here, I was shy and lacked confidence...
Rimi: I was the kind of girl who was always worried I would disappoint the people around me.
Rimi: I never imagined I would one day join the people who get up on stage, but here I am right now.
Rimi: It means a lot to me to be here, a little stronger than I used to be.
Rimi: As for why I'm the person I am now... I say it's because of my encounter with band and Poppin'Party.
Rimi: Together, we kept taking on the impossible...
Rimi: Our hopes, dreams, and a touch of courage giving us the push we needed...
Rimi: I believe all those things we overcame made me into who I am now...
Rimi: I hope I never stop, and I hope I can keep taking on new challenges...
Rimi: Because I believe that doing that... is what will let me become an even bigger person than I am now...
Rimi: (That's it...)
Saaya: Everything okay, Rimi-rin?
Rimi: Oh, it's nothing...! Here's our new song! We hope you like it!
Rimi: (I finally understand why I've had those feelings I couldn't shake off.)
Rimi: (The bigger the obstacle I overcome, the prettier the view on the other side, and the more new me's I get to encounter.)
Rimi: (That must be why I'm so drawn to the idea.)
Rimi: (The fact that it feels so impossible... no, the fact that it is impossible, is what makes me want to see what lies ahead.)
Rimi: (I want to meet that bigger and better me that's waiting there.)

Inside the Train

Kasumi: That was such a fun show, wasn't it~?
Arisa: Seriously... That's all you've been talking about since we finished... I've lost count.
Kasumi: And I haven't said it enough~! Oh, and the way Rimi-rin played was so amazing too!
Tae: Yeah. Your sound was so clear and unclouded today, Rimi.
Saaya: It felt like it just dived straight into my heart... I don't think it's ever been like that before.
Arisa: It really pulled us along and influenced how we played. Definitely made for a good concert...
Kasumi: The audience clearly loved the show too! So did the live house manager! They were just gushing!
Rimi: Fufu, I'm so glad things worked out that way. I came out of it loving Osaka even more.
Kasumi: I've fallen in love too! It's such an energetic, kind, and warm city...!
Tae: Hey, the next time we come, let's go to the theme park!
Arisa: You're already thinking about our next visit...? I'm surprised you haven't had your fill of this place after three rounds of taking pictures in the photo booth.
Saaya: Funny. I could've sworn you were the one who enjoyed it the most, Arisa. What was it...? "We should take more pictures since we can only take these ones in Osaka."
Arisa: I-I wasn't enjoying it...! I was just going along because the arcade staff went to the trouble of telling us...!
Saaya: Fufu. You know, the people of Osaka really seem to love where they live.
Arisa: Yeah, they have such fierce pride and love. It's kinda impressive.
Kasumi: … Hey, let's do something big too!
Arisa: Here we go again... What's this something big you have in mind?
Kasumi: I dunno, but it has to be something super big, something that'll fill us and everyone else with sparkling, heart-pounding feelings!
Kasumi: There was this feeling I got during the culture festival and when I started working at RiNG.
Kasumi: A feeling that there are more fun things waiting for us... Wait, no, more fun things we can do!
Tae: Yeah! I'm sure we'll be able to!
Saaya: I don't know what that something might be... but I also think we'll be able to do it.
Rimi: Yes. If we tell ourselves it's impossible, we won't be able to do anything.
Arisa: ... Sigh~. You guys sure have become so much like Kasumi~...
Tae: If you ask me, you're the one who's most like her now.
Saaya: One hundred percent.
Arisa: Huh~...? Well, whatever.
Arisa: If we really are going through with this something big, let's give it some proper thought.
Kasumi: Arisa...! Yeah, let's do that!
Kasumi: Mmm~! I'm starting to feel so excited~! Alright, you know the drill!
Arisa: Hold it, hold it, we're on the train... We should at least keep it down if we are...!
Kasumi: Okay~! Ready~...?
Poppin'Party: Popipa! Pipopa! Popipapa! Pipopa~!
