Raychell (レイチェル) was born on January 13, 1985 in Japan. She is the vocalist and bassist of RAISE A SUILEN and also voices Wakana Rei. She is currently affiliated with Rhythm Zone, while her singing activities are signed under Ace Crew Entertainment. Her former stage name was Lay.

Background

Raychell debuted as a solo singer on June 2, 2010 under the avex label with the single "Kono Ai de Aru You ni". She then sang multiple songs for different anime and movies, such as Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Travelers: Jigen Keisatsu, the Tamagotchi anime series and Cardfight!! Vanguard G: NEXT.

Raychell has been hosting a radio corner on NACK5 called "R World Radio" every Wednesday since late 2010; Otsuka Sae used to be a frequent quest in the show, and Shizaki Kanon is her current assistant.

She held her 10th anniversary concert, "R" WORLD Special Live "I am... RAYCHELL" on April 10, 2021 at KT Zepp Yokohama.[1]

With the band SHAZNA officially reuniting in August 2017 for their 20th anniversary, she is one of the three new members.

Similarly to Natsume, Raychell had no experience in voice acting prior to her role as LAYER. She is also known for voicing:

  • Shano Himegami in the D4DJ series
  • Elena Hanakaze in Jouran: THE PRINCESS OF SNOW AND BLOOD

Personality & Hobbies

Due to her motherly personality, the other members of RAISE A SUILEN often refer to her as the band's "mother".[2]

Raychell loves hot drinks and often posts pictures of them on her Twitter.

When posting and talking about her everyday activities and non-work related things on Twitter, she uses the #ちぇるの戯言 (Cheru no Zaregoto/Chell's Nonsense) hashtag.

Raychell owns four cats named Maetel (メーテル), Kotetsu (小鉄), Makkii (マッキー) and Shachou (社長).[3]

    • Her father is also a big Natsume fan.[5]
  • She shares her birthday with her character.
  • She has an official fanclub called "R" WORLD which was opened on December 10, 2021. She calls her fans Chelldren (ちぇるどれん).
