Sakura Ayane (佐倉 綾音) was born on January 29, 1994 in Tokyo, Japan. She is the voice actress of Mitake Ran. She is affiliated with Aoni Production.

Background[]

Ayane had a desire in becoming an actress from an early age and enrolled in an acting school during junior high school, where she studied Japanese dancing, sword fighting, voice training and acting. However, she had eventually decided that acting was no longer suitable career for her, and went on to pursue her desire to become a voice actress instead.[1] She was also advised by one of the teachers at the acting school that she should try out and pursue her career in voice acting. She became affiliated with I'm Enterprise on April 1, 2009.

On January 31, 2022, it was announced that Ayane is leaving I'm Enterprise.[2] The day after, it was announced that she has joined Aoni Production.[3]

Ayane made her debut in 2010 voicing side characters, and landed her first major role in January 7, 2011, by voicing Merry Nightmare from Dream Eater Merry.

On March 3, 2018, she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 12th Seiyuu Awards for her role of Uraraka.

Personality & Hobbies[]

Her hobbies includes listening to sports radio programs, drawing, reading, singing and trying on clothes. During her days off she tends to do nothing but stay at home, watch TV and record different programs (including the anime she has starred in)[5]. Among her special skills are messing with computers and being able to whistle through her teeth. Her favorite food is her mother's cooking, while her least favorite foods are anything that tastes bitter, spicy, or plain.[6]

Ayane is a fan of Nogizaka46 and has collected their photo albums and Blu-rays of their concerts. She also admires fellow voice actresses Hanazawa Kana, Asano Masumi and Sawashiro Miyuki. Her favorite anime are Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san.

According to herself Ayane is a logical and reasonable person, as well as a bit of tomboy, even going as far as referring to herself with the "boku" pronoun when she was younger.

She is shown to be good friends with the fellow BanG Dream! vocalists' seiyuu, especially Aiba Aina and Maeshima Ami. She particularly enjoys teasing the latter and even did a shoutout for her when she had to withdraw from attending GARUPA Station's GBP 5.5th Anniv SP stream.

Trivia[]

  • Her nickname is Ayaneru (あやねる), which comes from the fact how she loves to sleep a lot. The nickname was given to her by Okamoto Nobuhiko.
  • She has certifications for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access as well as an IT passport.[7]
  • She has a driver's license.
  • Ayane credits the BanG Dream! franchise for pushing her boundaries as a singer, especially as she had mentioned in a past interview that she "can't see singing having a place in her life."[8]
  • In the GARUPA Station GBP 5.5th Anniv SP livestream, she mentioned that every time she sings abnormalize at karaoke, she scores full 100 points.
