Wakaba Mutsumi (若葉 睦) is a first-year student at Tsukinomori Girls' Academy. She goes by the stage name Mortis (モーティス) and is the rhythm guitarist of Ave Mujica.
She is childhood friends with Sakiko.[4]
Appearance[]
Mutsumi is a girl of slightly below-average height. She has straight, ashy, light green hair that goes past her shoulders and a straight-cut fringe, typically adorned with a small white barrette. She has downturned, sleepy-looking eyes with gold irises and downturned eyebrows.

Her casual attire consists of a navy blue plaid dress with an off-white ruffled collar, along with a teal bow and black choker with white ruffles. Her footwear consists of off-white ankle socks and dark brown mary janes.
As Mortis[]
Mask Design
As Mortis, she, like all Ave Mujica members, wears a mask to conceal her identity, wearing a lace mask that covers the entirety of her face minus her eyes. The flowers depicted on her mask are chrysanthemums. She wears a red beret, a loose off-white shirt with translucent sleeves, along with a black translucent shawl with red lapels and a black ruff, along with an off-white jabot collar adorned with a muted green gem. On her lower body she wears an opened black skirt along with red shorts adorned with gold buttons, and black tights with black ankles adorned with black ribbons and red shoes.
Background[]
Just like many Tsukinomori students, Mutsumi comes from a rich family. Her father is a famous comedian known as Wakaba, while her mother is Mori Minami (森 みなみ), an actress.[5] She also has played the guitar ever since she was young.
In middle school, Mutsumi was invited by Sakiko to join her band, leading to her becoming the guitarist of CRYCHIC. However, after Sakiko declared she will be leaving the band, Mutsumi followed up and claimed that she never had fun while performing and hanging out with her bandmates, which ended up causing the band to break up in the end.
Personality[]
A girl of few words, Mutsumi is a very stoic girl who constantly has trouble expressing herself properly. While she generally means well, her way of wording things can sometimes make her come off as rude or insensitive instead.

Etymology[]
Mutsumi (睦) means "harmony" or "unity".
Wakaba (若葉): Waka (若) means "young" and Ba (葉) means "leaf."
Trivia[]
- Mutsumi is a Pastel*Palettes fan.
- She is the shortest member of Ave Mujica.
- Mutsumi loves cucumbers and she even grows them in Tsukinomori's courtyard.
- Her phone's wallpaper is of a growing cucumber, and her icon in the messaging app is a photo of a cucumber flower.[6]
- Mutsumi's appearance coincidentally also somewhat represents that of a cucumber. With her hair representing the inside of sliced green cucumbers and her eyes seemingly representing that of Indian yellow, lemon cucumbers, or the flower.
- Mutsumi is the member of Ave Mujica to appear in the most episodes of BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!, appearing in 11 out of 13 episodes. The only episodes, where Mutsumi doesn't appear are Episode 5 and 11.
- Aside from playing rhythm guitar in Ave Mujica, Mutsumi also takes piano lessons at Tsukinomori.
- Mutsumi, along with Uika are the only characters to exclusively use 7-string guitars instead of a 6-string.
- While Rokka is shown to use a 7-string as shown in Poppin'Dream, she primarily uses a 6-string, whilst Mutsumi and Uika have only been shown using 7-strings.
- Mutsumi is the only Ave Mujica member whose stage name has the same initial as her normal name (Mortis and Mutsumi).
